Quote: "What would you get for me? A 36-year-old guy with a broken bone in his hand and a bad back?" - Chicago Cubs pitcher Kevin Tapani on his name being mentioned in trade rumors involving Sammy Sosa. It's a fact: Eric Karros set a Los Angeles team record with his 229th home run as the Dodgers beat Arizona, 6-1, Tuesday night. Who's hot: In St. Louis' 8-3 win over San Diego on Tuesday, Darryl Kile became the third 10-game winner in the majors, joining Arizona's Randy Johnson and Toronto's David Wells.

The Chicago Cubs are known to have interest in Alex Rodriguez. The Orioles have their own superstar, Miguel Tejada, who could bring them a top-of-the-rotation starter in return. So let those Tejada-to-the Cubs rumors begin. Again. This time, they won't involve Mark Prior, which would have been a terrible move last winter, given Prior's health. You'll probably hear about another Chicago starter, Carlos Zambrano. But keep this in mind: The Orioles first would need a window to negotiate a contract extension with Zambrano, a free agent after the 2007 season.
