A 23-year-old man was in critical condition Wednesday after a one-car crash in Millersville, police said. Joseph Garrick Henehan of Millersville was driving westbound on Brightview Drive at about 7 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve near Sunnyview Drive, Anne Arundel County police Lt. T.J. Smith said. The 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer began to spin, left the roadway and rolled over, Smith said. Henehan was ejected from the vehicle. Henehan, of 656 Stone Wheel Court West, was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he was being treated for life-threatening injuries, Smith said.

D.C. police said early Friday morning that the white truck they had been looking for in a search for a missing 8-year-old girl was found Thursday in Hyattsville. The search for the missing girl urgent Thursday as D.C. police issued a regional alert after finding the body of a woman linked to the case in an Oxon Hill motel room. Dozens of officers and detectives converged on the Red Roof Inn as well as at a homeless shelter at the former D.C. General Hospital, where the girl's mother lives.

A pedestrian was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon when she was struck by a sport-utility vehicle in Northwest Baltimore, a police spokesman said. A Chevrolet Trailblazer headed northbound in the 4300 block of Liberty Heights Ave. near Eldorado Avenue struck a 55-year-old woman about 3:15 p.m., said the spokesman, Detective Kevin Brown. The SUV had a green light, he said. The woman was crossing Liberty Heights, Brown said. She was taken to a local hospital with head injuries; no information about her condition was available.

A 7-year-old Waldorf girl was killed and three adults were injured in a three-car, alcohol-involved collision in Charles County, according to Maryland State Police. State troopers from the La Plata barrack first responded to northbound Route 210 near Lewis Place about 3:20 p.m. for reports of a motor vehicle accident. The girl, Jan-nae Alicia Woodard, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. An investigation showed that Jackson Tutt, 73, of Fort Washington, was driving a green 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe south on Route 210 when the vehicle passed through the median of the roadway and into the left side of a gray 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer being driven north on the road by William Green, 60, of Indian Head.

3 hurt in crash on U.S. 1 in Elkridge Three people were hurt Friday in a crash on U.S. 1 in Elkridge when a 16-year-old driver of a southbound Chevrolet Trailblazer lost control near Old Washington Road about 5 p.m. and hit a flatbed tow truck headed north, Howard County police said. The Trailblazer was then hit by a Chevrolet Cavalier. The Trailblazer driver, an Elkridge resident who was not identified, along with Pauline Lesane, 52, of Pikesville and her passenger in the Cavalier, Eric Lesane, 19, were taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

A Baltimore County councilman was arrested and charged with drunken driving after an auto accident early yesterday on the Baltimore Beltway, authorities said. Stephen G. Samuel Moxley, a Catonsville Democrat and member of the council since 1994, was released on his own recognizance after being charged with driving under the influence and driving while impaired, according to county police. Police said Moxley took a field sobriety test but refused to take a Breathalyzer test. About 2 a.m., the driver of a silver Honda CRV was on the shoulder of Interstate 695, north of Wilkens Avenue, changing a flat tire; a blue Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by Moxley, swerved off the road and struck the SUV, said police spokesman Officer Shawn Vinson.

Odenton man victim of carjacking after giving 2 men a ride An Odenton man was the victim of a carjacking early yesterday after he gave a ride to two men who signaled that they needed assistance on Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie, Anne Arundel County police said yesterday. The man stopped his maroon Chevrolet Trailblazer about 5:30 a.m. to help two men who were "waving their hands for a ride," according to a news release issued yesterday. He agreed to give them a lift, and the two men got into his truck.

A second elderly woman has died of injuries suffered during a bizarre double carjacking and crash on the Eastern Shore on Sept. 9. Margery Friel, 92, of Queenstown died Tuesday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center, according to a hospital spokesman. Anna M. Walbert, 85, of Easton died at Shock Trauma on Sept. 11. Edward J. Williams, 34, of Pasadena has been charged with carjacking and kidnapping. Representatives of the Talbot County district attorney's office did not return phone calls seeking comment on whether additional charges would be brought.

Dozens of police officers combed Eastern Shore communities and rural areas yesterday in search of 18-year-old Brandon Curtis, who they believe went to his mother's house and killed a man who may have been her former lover. As the manhunt continued through the day, police obtained a warrant charging Curtis with murder. Neighbors had seen him speeding away yesterday morning from his mother's home in rural Hebron in a burgundy Chevrolet Trailblazer, Maryland State Police spokesman Greg Shipley said.
