On July 20, 2007, Irma Gartrell Lucas Geyer of Chatham, VA after a brief illness. Beloved mother of Marilyn L. Schmitz of Raleigh, NC, Jeannette L. Albanese of Bethesda, MD, and D.C. Lucas Jr. of Paola, KS. She is also survived by one brother, Carroll Gartrell of Kansas, four cherished grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Born in 1919 in Baltimore, she was a long time member of Catonsville United Methodist Church, an accomplished artist and private art teacher. Memorial services were held in Chatham, Va and Baltimore, MD, with internment at Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore.

Santa's visit to open holiday season at Chatham Station Chatham Station Shopping Center in Ellicott City will hold a Holiday Kick-off Celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Santa will arrive by horse-drawn sleigh at 11 a.m.; people can wait to welcome him on the sidewalk in front of Kmart. He will be available for visits and pictures. A brass ensemble will provide holiday music. Frosty the Snowman and a giant Gingerbread Man will be at the shopping center to greet customers and pose for pictures.
