Funeral Services will be held at the Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc., 7401 Belair Road on Friday, at 1pm. Interment Parkwood Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9pm. The Rev. Charles E. Cook, an internationally influential Christian leader who had pastored Mountain Christian Church in Joppa for a decade, died Jan. 11 of respiratory failure at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. Joseph Richard Cook, a retired high school assistant principal, died of cancer Tuesday at Joseph Richey Hospice in downtown Baltimore. The West Baltimore resident was 79. Born in Baltimore, he was a 1945 graduate of Douglass High School. He served in the Army Air Forces from 1945 to 1946. Mr. Cook earned a bachelor's degree from what was then Coppin State Teachers College in 1954. He earned a master's from Fisk University in 1967. Mr. Cook joined the city Department of Education in the mid-1950s.

On March 3, 2003, NANCY L. COOK (nee Poole) of Bel Air, MD, beloved wife of Gerald E. Cook, Sr., devoted mother of Gerald E. Cook, Jr., and his wife Debbie, Kenneth C. Cook and his wife Julie and Susan Cook Lane and her husband Jim, loving sister of Georgianna Jeffery and Patsy Hanley. Also survived by seven grandchildren Matthew Charles Cook, Micahel David Cook, Corry Duncan Lane, Holly Rachel Lane, Brian Patrick Lane, Daniel Thomas Lane and Brendon Christopher Lane. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Margaret Catholic Church, Bel Air, MD, on Monday, March 10, at 10 A.M. Interment will be in Mountain Christian Church Cemetery, Joppa, MD.
