A Glen Burnie man who police say stole money from a relative Monday to buy crack cocaine was arrested later that day and charged with theft and purse snatching.The man was at his uncle's house on Forrest Avenue at Fort Meade about 1 a.m. when he took $340 that was on an end table and left in the relative's 1967 Ford Mustang, police said.The man then drove into Baltimore, bought crack cocaine and returned to Anne Arundel County shortly after 8 a.m., police said.While driving in the 7400 block of Candlewood Road in Hanover, he saw a woman walking down a sidewalk.

A 15-year-old Columbia boy was charged Tuesday night in connection with a Sept. 1 robbery, after police found his fingerprint on a robbery victim's wallet, Howard County police said.The boy was arrested at his home and was being held at the Thomas J. S. Waxter Children's Center in Laurel until he could be scheduled for a hearing in Juvenile Court, authorities said. He is charged with robbery, theft, assault and battery, police said.Police said the boy was one of three males who stopped a 17-year-old boy in the 10200 block of Little Patuxent Parkway Sept.

Howard County police charged a west Columbia man Wednesday with robbing and stabbing a 13-year-old boy in September.The youth was walking along West Running Brook Road on Sept. 17 when two men approached and demanded money. One of the robbers cut the boy on the chest, hand and neck with a knife and stole a small amount of cash, police said.The boy was treated at Howard County General Hospital.Antonio Tarell Beard, 28, of the 6000 block of Turnabout Lane in the Village of Wilde Lake is being held on $100,000 bond at the Howard County Detention Center.

A Harford County man will be celebrating his 29th birthday in jail today, accused of robbing a Joppa bank and leading state troopers on a brief chase before the getaway car collided with a police cruiser.The robbery occurred at 9:45 a.m. yesterday at the Harford National Bank on Riviera Drive, where a man implied he had a weapon, handed a note to a teller demanding money and got more than $4,500, police said.The suspect was seen fleeing in a blue Toyota Corolla later found to have stolen Maryland tags.

A 20-year-old Westminster man, whose picture was picked out of a police mug shot book by a man who says he was robbed, was held on $25,000 bond yesterday. Kane Allan McGruger, of the first block of S. Church St., was charged with one count each of robbery, robbery with a deadly weapon, assault with intent to rob, assault and theft.City police said the driver of a Countywide Taxi took two men to a parking lot off Center Street at Court Street about 12:30 a.m. Aug. 10. Both men left the cab, telling the driver to wait while they went into a nearby apartment to get the $2 fare.

Acting on an anonymous tip, county police Wednesday night arrested a Beverly Beach man wanted by the FBI on bank robbery charges and also charged him with drug possession, a police report said.Police went to the man's house, in the 200 block of Cadle Ave., about 8:20 p.m., where they found him hiding under a bed.The man is wanted by both Montgomery County police and the FBI on bank robbery charges, police said.Arresting officers called the Southern District's tactical narcotics team after they noticed two 30-inch-tall marijuana plants and drug paraphernalia.

An Oakland Mills man was charged with robbery, breaking and entering and assault after his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend were held at gunpoint Sunday afternoon, Howard County police said.Police said the man, 23, broke into the home of a Columbia man, 19, about 4 p.m. and stole a camera, wallet and money. The incident was related to an earlier dispute between the man and his former Greenbelt girlfriend, 19, over a cellular telephone, police said. Coleman J. Scott of the 9600 block of White Acre Road was arrested Sunday evening.

Four teens threatened a Long Reach youth with a knife and took his skateboard Tuesday, Howard County police said.The victim, a 12-year-old boy, was not injured, police said.The youth had been riding his skateboard in the 5300 block of Phelps Luck Road shortly after 2 p.m. when four teens approached and harassed him before forcing him to turn over his property. Police said the skateboard was found nearby.The boy described the four as 13 to 15 years old.Last year, 19 juveniles were charged with robbery; two were charged in the first three months of this year, according to first-quarter crime statistics.

County police arrested a Pasadena man Friday night and charged him with robbing a gasoline station on Mountain Road, authorities said.A man walked into Ed's Shell, in the 100 block of Mountain Road, about 10 p.m. and bought a soda. When the clerk rang up the sale and opened the cash register, the man shoved her aside and grabbed an undisclosed amount of money, police said.The man ran from the station and headed east on Mountain Road, where he was caught a few moments later by Officer Richard Colmus of the Northern District, who was on routine patrol, police said.

A 35-year-old Silver Spring man, nabbed by police in Reisterstown Sunday, has been charged with eight armed robberies of Baltimore County pharmacies in which he allegedly stole cash and hundreds of narcotic pain-killing tablets, police said yesterday.Douglas Vincent Minchillo was being held last night in lieu of $150,000 bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center, according to police spokesman Cpl. Kevin Novak.Police said Mr. Minchillo was arrested about 1 p.m. Sunday after he allegedly robbed a Rite Aid Pharmacy in the 100 block of Chartley Drive.
