Two men were being held in the Howard County Detention Center last night, charged with the armed robbery of another man in a Jessup motel room early yesterday morning.Donald Wayne Jackson, 30, of the 9500 block of Murkick Road in Laurel, was being held on $150,000 bail. Trevor Michael Butler, 29, of the 8300 block of Pioneer Drive in Severn, was held on $100,000 bond. Police did not identify the victim.Both men were charged with robbery with a deadly weapon, theft, assault and a handgun violation.

A Glen Burnie man who police say stole money from a relative Monday to buy crack cocaine was arrested later that day and charged with theft and purse snatching.The man was at his uncle's house on Forrest Avenue at Fort Meade about 1 a.m. when he took $340 that was on an end table and left in the relative's 1967 Ford Mustang, police said.The man then drove into Baltimore, bought crack cocaine and returned to Anne Arundel County shortly after 8 a.m., police said.While driving in the 7400 block of Candlewood Road in Hanover, he saw a woman walking down a sidewalk.

Larry Jo Bobbs, 46, of Germantown, Montgomery County, was charged yesterday with the December 1992 robbery of the Jo Ann Fabrics shop in the Westminster Shopping Center.Mr. Bobbs is in the Anne Arundel Detention Center. He is charged with several similar robberies in that county, Montgomery County and Pennsylvania.According to court documents, Mr. Bobbs went into the fabric shop and purchased a spool of thread, paid for it and left the store.Within minutes, he returned to the shop and approached the cashier with two packages of tinsel in his hand, the documents said.

A Harford County man will be celebrating his 29th birthday in jail today, accused of robbing a Joppa bank and leading state troopers on a brief chase before the getaway car collided with a police cruiser.The robbery occurred at 9:45 a.m. yesterday at the Harford National Bank on Riviera Drive, where a man implied he had a weapon, handed a note to a teller demanding money and got more than $4,500, police said.The suspect was seen fleeing in a blue Toyota Corolla later found to have stolen Maryland tags.

&TC County police arrested two men Tuesday and charged them in the holdup of a Linthicum branch of Signet Bank.John Wayne Newman, 36, and Robert George Pawley, 30, neither of a fixed address, were charged with robbery in the first of two bank robberies that occurred in a three-hour period in Linthicum Tuesday, police said.A man walked into the Signet Bank branch in the 700 block of Hammonds Ferry Road shortly after 11 a.m. and demanded money from a teller, police said.The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount, and the man left, got onto a bicycle and rode off with another bicyclist, police said.

Two Columbia men were arrested last week and charged in connection with the March 15 armed robbery of the Wendy's fast-food restaurant in the 6300 block of Dobbin Road.According to a report, Howard County police on Friday arrested Jason Demond Thomas, 18, of the 8700 block of Footed Ridge in Long Reach village after they recovered a bank bag and receipts in his home.The next day, police said, a search of the home of Tashon Terrone Mason, 19, of the 8200 block of Bellfall Court in Long Reach village turned up a sawed-off shotgun, an air gun resembling a large revolver and two ski masks.

Two men have been arrested in Wednesday's holdup of the United Cable office in East Baltimore in which a gunman wearing a company uniform took $15,467, police said.Ralph Remey, 33, an employee of the cable company who lives in the 400 block of E. Fayette St., and Reese Green Jr., 26, of the 3800 block of Ravenwood Ave., were arrested Thursday, police said.Police allege that Mr. Green went to the cable company's office, in the 2500 block of Kirk Ave., about 7:20 p.m. dressed in Mr. Remey's uniform and carrying his identification card.

A Sykesville man was held in lieu of $25,000 bail yesterday after he was arrested on a warrant stemming from robbery and assault charges sought 12 days ago in Westminster.Audbrey C. Williams, 39, of the 500 block of Schoolhouse Road also was served a bench warrant yesterday, charging him for failing to appear Sept. 30 in District Court on unrelated cocaine counts. An additional $5,000 bond was set in that case.In the latest incident, Williams was charged with robbery, conspiracy to rob, assault and conspiracy to assault.

The former boyfriend of one of two sisters stabbed to death Thursday night in the basement of a West Baltimore home turned himself in to police last night after being charged with two counts of first-degree murder.Rodney W. Pitts, 21, of no known address, walked alone into the Central District station house on Baltimore Street downtown about 9:45 p.m. and surrendered, homicide detectives said. He was awaiting a bail hearing last night before a District Court commissioner.Police said Mr. Pitts had recently ended a relationship with one of the victims, Trina Johnson, 28, and the motive for the killings appeared to be a domestic dispute.
