An Annapolis man was being held in the county jail yesterday, charged with robbery and resisting arrest.James A. Thomas, 24, of the 100 block Obery Court was arrested near his home about 5 a.m. FridayHe is charged with robbing Luis A. Salinas, 25, of the first block of Jefferson Place.Mr. Salinas told police that he was walking from his home to Anne Arundel Medical Center seeking treatment for a sore throat about 4:30 a.m. Friday when a woman and two men accosted him near Calvert and West streets and demanded a dollar.

A Windsor Mill man and woman have been charged with robbing and killing a New York man and leaving his body on the side of a road in Carroll County Saturday night, State Police said. A witness told police he saw a man lying in the road at about 11 p.m. as two others stood nearby on Route 32 near Finksburg. When the witness approached the pair, they fled into a white vehicle and drove away, police said. The victim, 23-year-old Luis J. Pol, had several gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A 38-year-old Severn woman was arrested Saturday and charged with attempted robbery in an incident at a convenience store, county police said.A woman entered the Highs store in the 7800 block of Telegraph Road about 2:45 p.m. and demanded money from a clerk. The woman threatened to kill the clerk, implying she had a gun in her left pocket, police said.When some customers entered the store, the woman warned the clerk to be silent, police reported. After fumbling with the cash register, the clerk told the robber that she needed to ring up a sale to open the register, police said.

Two men and one woman have been arrested in the robbery of a Laurel 7-Eleven earlier this week, Laurel police said Wednesday. Eric Wayne Glascoe, 22, Brittany Noel Smith, 22, and Michael Jay Smith Jr., 23, were arrested Tuesday and charged with armed robbery and other offenses, police said. According to police, two men and one woman entered the 7-Eleven convenience store, located at 605 Seventh Street, at 2:30 a.m. Monday. The three waited for the store to clear and then one man took out a handgun and ordered the clerk into the bathroom, police said.

A 28-year-old northwest Baltimore man has been arrested and charged with the Dec. 30 robbery of a Lansdowne sporting goods store in which more than a dozen handguns were stolen.John F. LeGrand, of the 5600 block of Cadillac Ave., was arrested about 9 p.m. yesterday by Baltimore County police at a beverage bottling company, where he is employed as a forklift operator.According to Sgt. Stephen Doarnberger, LeGrand became the target of the investigation following a telephone tip to Metro Crime Stoppers, a private group that offers rewards for arrests in major crimes.

An 18-year-old Wilde Lake High School student was arrested Wednesday and charged with armed robbery, Howard County police said.Police said Rolando Roberto Tompson of the 600 block of Turnabout Lane in Wilde Lake was charged in the Dec. 20 armed robbery of Wilhide's Florist in the Wilde Lake Village Center.Slightly more than $600 was stolen, said Sgt. Steven Keller, a police spokesman.Three employees were in the shop when it was held up by a man brandishing a handgun. No one was injured in the incident.

Man charged in robbery try A Westminster man was arrested yesterday in connection with the attempted robbery of a woman outside Carroll Hospital Center on Nov. 7, state police said. Jarod Arthur Holtschneider, 25, of the 200 block of Sophia Ave. was taken before a Carroll County District Court commissioner and released after being charged with attempted robbery. State police are investigating whether other suspects might have been involved in the assault of the 62-year-old woman, who was attacked from behind by a man who tried to steal her purse as she fell outside the hospital's emergency department.

Two charged in robbery in Marley Station lotCounty police arrested a Severna Park man and a Glen Burnie youth Monday on charges of robbing a Baltimore man with a sawed-off shotgun in the parking lot of Marley Station.Rodney Jerome White, 29, of the 100 block of Pineview Ave., and Theodore Asbury Pack, 17, of the 100 block of Mapledale Ave., were charged with armed robbery and a firearms violation. Pack was charged as an adult.They are accused of robbing Mark Kotishion, 35, near the Macy's store about 7: 30 p.m. A witness gave police the license number of the suspects' car, and officers stopped the vehicle and arrested the pair on Ritchie Highway near West Pasadena Road.

Two brothers accused of making off with $3,000 from a Columbia bank Saturday were apprehended shortly after the alleged robbery after a foot chase through neighborhoods in East Columbia, Howard County police said Monday. Calvin Abney, 23, of Jaris Avenue in Oxen Hill, and Richard Abney, 28, of Billings Place in Capitol Heights, both face armed robbery, robbery, multiple counts of assault, theft, reckless endangerment, auto theft and a handgun violation, police said. The two are brothers, according to the State's Attorney's office spokesman.

Two Columbia teens face charges in connection with the robbery and assault of a man near an East Columbia playground this week, according to Howard County police.  James Wilson Small, 19, of the 8800 block of Flowerstock Row, faces second-degree assault, robbery and theft charges in connection with the Sept. 10 crime, which occurred near a playground located in the 5500 block of Lightspun Lane. A 15-year-old girl has also been arrested, but is being charged as an adult, according to police.  According to Small's charging documents, at approximately 5 p.m. on Sept.

Anne Arundel County police have charged an 18-year-old man in connection with an attempted robbery and assault on a woman and her six-year-old daughter Thursday in Lothian. Police say a 31-year-old woman was walking with her young daughter near the 1200 block of Whittington Drive around 4:30 p.m. when a teen approached her from behind and demanded money, then punched her and knocked her to the ground. As the man continued to punch and kick her while she was on the ground trying to get her purse, the six-year-old girl tried to step in to stop the assault, police said.

Three Anne Arundel County teenagers were arrested Friday and charged with armed robbery and other counts when their homes in the Severn area were searched in connection with several recent armed robberies, police said. In a search of a home in the 1900 block of Arwell Court, police said they found a cell phone and basketball shoes reported taken at gunpoint in an armed robbery Tuesday, along with a man identified as the suspect in that and a May 13 armed robbery. Police said they found a cell phone taken from a victim during that armed robbery in a home in the 8500 block of Pioneer Drive, and a second suspect.

Two men have been indicted by federal prosecutors for allegedly robbing at least three Baltimore area convenience stores with a shotgun. Prosecutors say Quindell Ryeshawn Gardner, 21, and Dion Mitchell Doram, 22, conspired between May and July to commit a series of robberies using stolen cars, with one acting as the getaway driver. On June 21, police say the pair traveled in a stolen vehicle to Hampden, where Doram entered the Royal Farms store in the 1100 block of W. 41 s t St., brandished a shotgun and demanded cash and cartons of cigarettes.

A 20-year-old East Baltimore man has been charged in the stabbing and robbery of a 60-year-old woman in the Patterson Park neighborhood earlier this month, police confirmed. The robbery was among a rash of such incidents reported recently in the Southeastern District, police statistics show. Over a seven-day period ending Nov. 17, the Southeastern District saw 19 robberies, the most in the city - that compares with just three reported over the same period in the Eastern District to the north, and two in the Northern District.

A 16-year-old Columbia boy was charged in an armed robbery of a man who retrieving mail from a community mail box on Wednesday evening. Police said Dymtro Klopp, 16, of Dove Cote Drive, was with two other teens in the 10400 block of Fair Oaks in Columbia on Wednesday when they approached the victim, placed a gun against the victim's head and demanded money. The victim handed over his wallet, which contained credit cards, gift cards and an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim was able to give police a detailed description of Klopp, which police recognized from other recent incidents.
