CRAIG J. NICHOLSON departed this life suddenly on Monday, March 7, 2005, at St. Agnes Hospital. Beloved son of Cheryl Harding and the late George L. Nicholson, brother of Tia Vaughn-Nicholson, grandson of Pearl Nicholson, great grandson of Cozette Harding. He also leaves one niece and a host of other relatives and friends. Howard County government took the first step last week toward purchasing and redeveloping the Long Reach Village Center by introducing legislation designating the area as an urban renewal zone. The county announced its plans to buy a portion of the property, currently owned by Long Reach Village Associates, a spin-off of Pikesville-based Americas Realty, at a Long Reach Village Board meeting earlier this month. “The Long Reach community has long been concerned over the decline of the Village Center.

Bowl-A-Thon for Youth set for Jan. 21 Howard County Hadassah will hold a Bowl-A-Thon for Youth from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Jan. 21 at Columbia Brunswick bowling alley, 7100 Carved Stone Road, Columbia. Participants must pledge a donation ($50 for adults; $36 for children). Shoe rental and snacks are included. Prizes will be awarded to top bowlers and to those with the highest pledges or donations.
