A Dundalk woman who was found dead inside her apartment in April was killed by her son in-law, Baltimore County police announced on Friday. Police said Cecilia Alice Brown, 53, was found dead shortly after 6 p.m. on April 27 by officers who were called to her apartment at the 600 block of North Point Road by a caller who said she had not been to work in two days. Police on Thursday arrested her son-in-law, 42-year-old Ronnie Lee Walden Jr. who lived with her and charged him with first-degree murder.

Cecilia S. Poffel, a homemaker who lived for many years in Parkville, died of cancer Thursday at Harford Memorial Hospital. The Perryville resident was 76. Cecilia Schroeder was born in Gdynia, Poland, a fishing village, and came with her family to East Baltimore when she was 13. Her family had fled the advancing Soviet Army and she lived in a displaced-persons camp in Germany for three years. She was a 1955 graduate of Catholic High School. In 1958, she married William A. Poffel Sr., who had a claw machine business.

Rena Cecilia "Winnie" German, an owner of an electrical contracting business, died of complications from a stroke Tuesday at the Chester River Hospital Center in Chestertown. She was 79 and lived in Ocean City. Born Rena Cecilia Clark in Baltimore, she was the daughter Michael and Lottie Grain Clark, who lived in Irvington. She attended St. Joseph's Monastery School and was a 1950 graduate of Seton High School, where she excelled in basketball. She married Garrett German in January 1952.

A 68-year-old Ellicott City woman died early Monday of injuries she received Sunday night when a car hit the rear of a motorcycle she was riding on. According to Howard County Police, Antonio Joseph Amato of the 4000 block of High Point Road was slowing down for a red light on eastbound U.S. 40 near Marriotsville Road around 8:10 p.m. when the 2005 Honda Gold Wing motorcycle was hit by a 2008 Honda Civic. Cecilia Ann Amato, also of the 4000 block of High Point Road, was riding on the back of the motorcycle when it was hit. She was taken by ambulance to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where she died from her injuries Monday morning, police said.

BYRON KENNETH RISLEY, 81, born in Baltimore, Maryland, passed peacefully on August 9, 2009. Byron was the beloved husband of Dorothy McNulty Risley, loving father of Kathleen Louise Macfarlane, cherished grandfather of John Charles III, Byron Eric, and Kathleen Cecilia Macfarlane, and caring uncle of Roxanne Bernhardt and Donna Lanasa. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and close relatives. Byron served in the United States Navy during World War II. He became a Certified Public Accountant after attending evening classes at the University of Baltimore, practicing for 50 years.
