Delrey Avenue, unit block, March 8, 8:30 p.m. Man followed by two men after road rage incident was stabbed in the chest. He was later treated and released from University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. The two men then drove away.

Among the 49 calls the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department received for medical and fire-rescue service during the period March 3-10, were the following: Stafford Drive, 300 block, 1:13 p.m. March 8. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Catonsville and Halethorpe career stations responded to the report of an unconscious person, possibly due to an overdose, in Catonsville. One person taken to a local hospital. East Drive, 5400 block, 5:25 p.m. March 7. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Halethorpe career station responded to the report of an woman about to give birth in Arbutus and transported one person to a local hospital.

A man who had been involved in a road-rage incident was stabbed on a street in Catonsville Friday night, Baltimore County Police said. Officers responding to a call at 8:39 p.m. found the wounded man in the unit block of Delrey Ave. in the Wilkens District. The victim told police two men involved in the dispute followed him to the location by car and that one of the men stabbed him in the chest before the pair drove off in an unknown direction. The injured man was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma, where he is being treated for non life-threatening injuries.

There are many rooms in the Charlestown retirement community in Catonsville, but none of them are louder than the new fitness center, where - with a mix of music and timely movements - Zumba instructor Robin Rouse keeps residents on their toes, and off them. "I truly think that Zumba is for everyone," said Rouse, a licensed instructor who teaches at several senior facilities. "The only way to work on balance is to be off-balance. " How it got started: Charlestown began offering Zumba classes about a year ago. After the instructor left last June, Rouse stepped in and started teaching the class, which is held every Friday.

The CEFM Network, formerly the Catonsville Emergency Food Ministries, celebrated its second annual St. Valentine Day dinner/dance Feb. 9 at the Rolling Road Golf Club. More than 150 guests attended the delicious surf and turf dinner and danced to the music of one of Baltimore's best upcoming bands, Collect All 5. This year, the grab bag was extended to 75 special bags. Each contained a bottle of wine from Dave Carney of the Wine Bin, in Ellicott City, along with a gift card valued at between $30-$200.

A Baltimore County police officer was injured after crashing a patrol car into a tree in Catonsville late Wednesday night, according to county police. Shortly before midnight, Officer Tia Bynum, 28, of Catonsville, was traveling westbound on Route 40 with her patrol vehicle's lights and sirens activated, responding to a call for assistance from another officer, said Louise Rogers-Feher, a police spokeswoman. As Bynum, a six-year veteran of the force, began entering the intersection of Route 40 and Coleridge Road against a red traffic light, another vehicle heading south on Coleridge which had a green light entered the intersection, Rogers-Feher said.

Catonsville resident W. Fumiko Campbell, who will step down from her current two-year term as president of the St. Agnes Hospital Auxiliary in March, won two awards for volunteerism in 2012. She received a Geri award from the Maryland Senior Citizens Hall of Fame and an Unsung Hero award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Maryland Chapter. The first emeritus member of the St. Agnes Foundation, Campbell will continue raising money for the hospital, where she has volunteered more than 25,000 hours.

Among the 61 calls the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department received for medical and fire-rescue service during the period February 23-March 2 were the following: Frederick Road at Ingleside Avenue, 9:35 p.m. March 1. A motor vehicle accident with injury was reported. Crews from the Arbutus and English Consul volunteer stations and Catonsville and Woodlawn career stations responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident with possible injuries in Catonsville. Four people with non-life-threatening injuries taken to a local hospital.

In-patient units at Spring Grove Hospital Center in Catonsville have become troubled environments where serious assaults on hospital staff are common, according to a scathing new report from a consultant for the Maryland health department. The chaos at the state's largest psychiatric hospital, the consultant found, is fueled by a few patients who "prey upon patients and staff with relative impunity" after being ordered by courts to the hospital for psychiatric evaluation - sometimes with dubious symptoms.
