As of 9 a.m. Friday, traffic was slow on I-95 northbound near Caton Avenue, due to an accident. Accidents were slowing traffic on Route 175 eastbound at Dobbin Road in Howard County, Monroe Street near Franklin Street in Baltimore City, Quarterfield Road and Parke West Drive in Anne Arundel County, I-795 southbound near Franklin Boulevard in Baltimore County, and Route 140 and York Street in Taneytown. A vehicle fire was slowing traffic on I-95 southbound at the Fort McHenry Tunnel in Baltimore City.

All lanes are closed on MD 177 in both directions in Anne Arundel County at 9:11 a.m. on Tuesday due to what the state Department of Transportation said is police activity. No additional information was given. In Baltimore City, a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 95 North past the US 1 Caton Avenue exit has closed one of four northbound traffic lanes and one of two northbound traffic shoulders at 9:06 a.m., DOT said. As of 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, traffic was slow on southbound I-95 past Caton Avenue, due to a disabled vehicle in the road. Emergency roadwork was causing traffic to be slow on southbound Route 140 at Painters Mill Road. Downtown, travel was restricted on southbound Light Street from Conway to Lee streets because of preparations for the Baltimore Grand Prix. Otherwise, there were no accidents reported on major Baltimore area roads and highways. There were no major delays on mass transit systems.

An overturned vehicle along Interstate 70 prior to Route 29 near the border between Baltimore and Howard counties was causing major delays as of about 8 a.m. Wednesday, according to the State Highway Administration. Also, a collision on Interstate 83 south of the 41st Street bridge was causing major delays there, according to the city transportation department. At least two of three westbound lanes and the westbound shoulder were closed as of 8:15 a.m., and a traffic camera showed vehicles crawling along I-70 just west of Interstate 695. One person was transported from the scene by ambulance to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department, which responded at 7:56 a.m. A county police dispatcher said units were beginning to clear the scene about 8:30 a.m. In Baltimore, two of four southbound bores of the Fort McHenry Tunnel were closed as of 8:30 a.m. because of a disabled vehicle in the road, the SHA reported.

As of 8 a.m., an accident was reported on Interstate 95 southbound side, prior to exit 67 to White Marsh Boulevard, in Baltimore County, according to the state highway administration. Officials reported a second accident on I-95, southbound, south of Caton Avenue in Baltimore.. The Maryland Transit Administration reported no major delays to MARC service.

The state Department of Transportation reported an accident on Interstate 95 at Exit 50 (US 1/Caton Avenue) around 9:12 a.m. No additional information was given. MTA reported minor delays on MARC trains as at 9:12 a.m.

I am a person that seldom drives more than five miles per hour over the posted speed limit, whether it be on an interstate highway or a city street. In my 60-plus years of driving, I have received three speeding citations, averaging one every 20 years. This past May, I was mailed a speed camera ticket from Baltimore City for exceeding by more than 12 miles per hour the 25 mph speed limit on Gwynns Falls Parkway. I found this a little hard to believe. However, after recovering from the shock, I dutifully and promptly paid the $40 fine while also feeling that I had lost my virginity.

Traffic was backed up for three and a half miles on southbound I-95 near Washington Boulevard early Monday afternoon, due to a multi-vehicle collision that temporarily left a BMW dangling over the guardrail of an overpass on I-95. As of 2 p.m., the backup was less than two miles long, as cleanup efforts were underway. One of four southbound traffic lanes on I-95 was closed and one of two shoulders was closed. Two people were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

As of 9 a.m. Monday, traffic was slow at Wilkens Avenue and Caton Avenue in Baltimore County, due to an accident. Accidents were slowing traffic on the inner loop of I-695 at Exit 1 in Baltimore City, East Joppa Road and Oakleigh Road in Baltimore County, and Route 543 and Heaps Road in Harford County. Debris in the road was slowing traffic on I-95 northbound near Route 100 in Howard County. There were no major delays on Baltimore area transit systems.
