MARY CARTER, 82, of Severna Park, died January 1, 2004 at her home after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Carter was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, where she was a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. She received her RN from Mercy College and her anesthesia training from St. Mary's Hospital. She had been a Severna Park resident for 48 years and was a devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. In addition to her husband of 54 years, Edward Carter, she is survived by her ten children; Mary Lombardo of Ellicott City, Patricia Quill of Crofton, Margaret Perley of Socorro, New Mexico, Edward Carter Jr. of Trinity, FL, Evelyn Clarke of Baltimore, Suzanne Boulay of St. Petersburg, FL, James Carter of Severna Park, Joseph Carter of Pasadena, Gerard Carter of Chester, Kathleen Garrett of Millersville; and twenty-nine grandchildren.

Natasha Borges Sugiyama, daughter of Maria Lucia B. Sugiyama & Sugiyama Lutaka of New York, New York, and Gregory Thomas Carter, son of Clarice Carter & the late Dr. Gordon C. Carter of Baltimore, Maryland were married on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at the Westin St. John Resort and Villas in the United States Virgin Islands. The bride and groom met in New York City when both worked at the Ford Foundation. The bride is a doctoral candidate in Government at the University of Texas. She graduated from Oberlin College and received a Master's degree from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs.
