An Elkridge man accused of videotaping his female tenants in their rooms with pinhole cameras was charged yesterday under a relatively new state law that makes most secret surveillance illegal. Howard County police arrested 58-year-old Edward George Campion on four misdemeanor counts yesterday, three weeks after one of the two tenants, a 22-year-old woman, found video monitoring equipment set up in a basement storage room. She saw images of the other woman's bathroom when she pushed play.

If you've ever felt those "take-this-job-and-shove-it" blues, you might drop in on Richard Dresser's "Below the Belt," at AXIS Theatre. This darkly comic take on corporate hell is guaranteed to make almost any job look better by comparison. But you have to be quick about it; this is the last chance to catch the play's Baltimore premiere.Mark E. Campion plays the boss, and Steve Sawicki and Larry Malkus are his unfortunate employees, under Brian Klaas' direction. Joel Shepherd's ambitious set design is influenced by the movie "Brazil."

Deb Taylor, Archbishop Spalding's coach, can offer up some impressive numbers on her versatile senior Amy Campion. So can Bob Greeno, the Cavaliers' first-year soccer coach. He entrusted Campion with the vital center-midfield position last fall and watched her score goals, dish out assists and blossom into a first-team All-County performer. That Spalding doesn't have a girls tennis team doesn't deter her from spring sports. Last year, she played No. 1 singles for the boys team -- and won eight of 11 matches.

While a bevy of talented underclassmen has drawn most of the attention in No. 5 Archbishop Spalding's immediate success in the Baltimore Catholic League, a senior captain has quietly made huge contributions.Jason Campion, the Cavaliers' leading scorer last winter with a 12-point average and six rebounds a game, has gone from starter to the first or second man off the bench this season. And Campion has done it with maturity, class and understanding of the team concept. The 6-foot-5, 175-pound senior could have stirred up dissension but instead has helped craft chemistry that has the Cavaliers on a roll.

I ADMIT a dark bias against what are known as "aggressive drivers," the ones - usually males between 18 and 45 - who speed, tailgate and weave through traffic. They breathe down your neck and roar up your spine. On highways and boulevards, side streets and county two-lanes, they intimidate average drivers, fill up our rear-view mirrors with grillwork, swerve within inches of our backsides and pollute the air with angry, full-throttle growls. They're all insane. They're all going to kill somebody someday.
