"Therese Raquin," a tale of adultery, murder and guilt, opens tomorrow at Olney Theatre Center. Adapted for the stage by Neal Bell from Emile Zola's novel, the play will be presented in Olney's intimate Mulitz-Gudelsky Theatre Lab. Valerie Leonard portrays the title character, a young woman trapped in a dull, loveless marriage. Daryl Lozupone is her sickly husband, Camille; and Christopher Lane plays Camille's friend, with whom Therese has a passionate affair. Directed by Jim Petosa, the production features a scenic design by James Kronzer, built around gilded picture frames in varying states of decay.

On March 19, 2004 ANDREW CAMILLE PIERNE, of Fallston, MD., loving husband of Marydella Funk Pierne, devoted father of Robert Andrew Pierne, William Camille Pierne and James Gilbert Pierne, loving brother of Mildred Lagomarsini. Also survived by two grandchildren, Marc Andrew Pierne and William Bryant Whaley, and two great-grandchildren Cameron Whaley and Kathryn Whaley and longtime care givers, Kirstin and Kenneth Rutkowski. Graveside services will be held at Moreland Memorial Park Cemetery, Parkville, MD., on Tuesday March 23, 2004 at 11 A.M. Art Pissarro exhibit The Baltimore Museum of Art's newest exhibit, Pissarro: Creating the Impressionist Landscape, highlights the work of painter Camille Pissarro with a collection of 45 pieces that reveals his transformation from traditional landscapes to more bold works. Forty years ago tomorrow Hurricane Camille crashed ashore in Mississippi with 190-mph winds. It was the second-most-intense storm to hit the mainland U.S. and the most destructive of the time. It flattened nearly everything near the coast. But most of the deaths occurred days later when flash floods hit Virginia, killing 153 people. Freshwater floods after hurricanes kill more people than wind and tides.
