Police arrested a Pasadena man Wednesday on charges that he broke into a vacant lot in the 7800 block of Marley Neck Boulevard and tried to steal a truck that had been used for scrap metal.Randall David Lang, 32, of the 400 block of S. Carolina Ave. was charged with trespassing and felony theft.Donald Smith, a friend of Jane Pitt, the owner of the property, called police about 4 p.m. He told police someone had cut a chain that was blocking the driveway. When police arrived, a man was putting the truck onto the back of his tow truck, police said.

IN BALTIMORE COUNTY 2 men sought in rape, abduction of 17-year-old TOWSON - Baltimore County police are searching for two men in the rape of a 17-year-old woman who was abducted from the parking garage at St. Joseph Medical Center. Police said the woman was returning to her car about 7:30 p.m. yesterday when two men in a dark-colored pickup truck pulled up behind her and dragged her into their vehicle. They drove across Osler Drive to the campus of Towson University, threw the woman to the ground in a secluded area near Auburn House, then raped and kicked her, police said.

Baltimore County police today were searching for two men in a policelike cruiser who stopped a 28-year-old motorist and raped her.The woman was pulled over by a white car with red and blue overhead lights about 5:35 a.m. Saturday at Rossville Boulevard, near Gum Spring Drive, police said.One man got out of the vehicle on the passenger side and asked to see the woman's driver's license, police said. He ordered her out of the car.The woman's hands were placed behind her back and she was taken into nearby woods and raped by both men, police said.

Police arrested a Glen Burnie man and two friends Sunday and charged them with stealing more than $4,000 worth of jewelry, cash and other items from the house next door, county police saidRobert Davis, 57, of the 400 block of Crain Highway, Frank Ross Smith, 42, of the 1800 block of Hawk Court in Severn, and John Anthony Gaither Jr., 34, of the 2100 block of Presbury St. in Baltimore, were charged with first-degree burglary, destruction and theft.Gordon Tyler III, 25, of the 400 block of Crain Highway, called police shortly after 12:30 a.m. Sunday and told them someone had broken into his house and taken jewelry, two televisions, a shotgun and coins, police said.

Someone broke into a Pasadena home Tuesday and stole nine guns, a camcorder, a diamond ring, a camera and cash, county police said.Charles Leonard Nale, 61, of the 4000 block of Belle of Georgia Ave. called police shortly after 5 p.m. to report the burglary.Police said the culprit broke the glass panel on a rear basement door, covered the bottom sill of the door with a throw rug, and crawled through the opening.The house was ransacked, police said. The missing weapons were handguns and shotguns.

County police arrested a Glen Burnie woman Saturday and charged her with stealing $714 worth of clothing and shoes from a Glen Burnie department store, county police said.Nanette Fulton, 30, of the 6900 block of Glen Ridge Circle, was charged with felony theft.Mike Simmons, a security guard at Value City, in the 7700 block of Ritchie Highway, saw a woman pick up items from the children's department and put them in a shopping bag about 2: 30 p.m., police said.The woman also put two coats, a purse and three pairs of shoes in the bag and took them to customer service, where she asked for a cash refund, police said.

A 69-year-old Manchester woman, who was told repeatedly in telephone calls from July 20 to July 26 that she was the winner of a $150,000 sweepstakes prize, lost $8,600 to a scam artist last week, according to state police.The woman, whose name was not released, told investigators she received a daily call at her home from a man identifying himself as Carl Williams, an attorney in Las Vegas.He told her he was resolving a bankruptcy claim for a mail sweepstakes company called CMCD, police said.

An Oxon Hill courier was charged with making a false report Monday after he claimed he had been carjacked but later admitted he had concocted the story to avoid getting into trouble with his employer, state police said.Based on the 5 a.m. report from James Earl Jackson, 44, state police conducted a rush-hour manhunt, using a helicopter, K-9 units and about 10 troopers from the Bel Air and John F. Kennedy barracks to search for the alleged carjackers, said Sgt. Randy Rudy.Investigators said Mr. Jackson called police and said he and his company van had been carjacked by two men at the Maryland House rest stop on Interstate 95 near Aberdeen.
