If you're a big fan, you already knew what was coming in the season finale. But it didn't make it any easier -- or less heartbreaking -- to watch. The majority of the Season 3 "Downton" finale, or the "Christmas special" as its called in the U.K., took place in Scotland, where the whole family (minus Branson) visits the Highlands home of the Dowager's niece, Susan, and her husband, Shrimpy. Most of the trip included bagpipes, hunting, more bagpipes and Scottish reel dancing. But more on that later (and more on O'Brien meeting her Scottish lady's maid doppelganger)

John Carroll junior Alex Kane, member of Girl Scout Troop 1382, was awarded the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouting. To receive this honor, a girl must use her organizational, leadership, project management and teamwork skills to serve her community. Alex created "Bark for a Cure. " She solicited pictures, in the form of a contest, and created a canine calendar. The proceeds from the sale of this calendar went to benefit cancer research and treatment. Alex will be formally recognized by the Girl Scout organization this spring.

The Harford County Office of Tourism has released "Destination Harford 2013," the county's official visitor guide and calendar of events. This year's guide features the commemoration bicentennial of the attack on Havre de Grace by the British on May 3, 2013. Reenactments, encampments, tall ships and concerts can be enjoyed by visitors to the event. Fireworks, a 5-K race and the annual Decoy Festival also round out the weekend's festivities. There are plenty of opportunities to get outdoors and enjoy Harford County's scenic attractions.
