Two motorcyclists involved in separate crashes in Anne Arundel County died Wednesday, police said. One was killed following a three-vehicle crash in Annapolis around 7:15 p.m. Annapolis resident Preston Adams Jr., 38, was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center after the accident. He later died from his injuries, police said. Early investigation found that Adams, who was traveling on Gibralter Avenue toward West Street, lost control and the motorcycle fell over. He then slid onto West Street and struck a Cadillac Escalade traveling eastbound.

A 30-year-old man was fatally shot early Friday morning in Northwest Baltimore, his body found sitting in the driver's side seat of a Cadillac Escalade, according to city police. Police say the man was shot in the chest while driving the vehicle, which came to a stop in the 2400 block of Loyola Southway. An individual noticed the man bleeding and called police about 12:30 a.m. The victim, whom police have not identified, was taken to Sinai Hospital and pronounced dead later in the morning.

A motorcycle rider was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore Sunday night after he was injured in a crash with a car at the intersection of the Bel Air Bypass and Conowingo Road in Bel Air. Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association, said the victim, who was in serious condition, was taken to the hospital by a Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company medic unit. Gardiner said first responders were alerted at 7:53 p.m. Sunday.

The Harford County sheriff's office said Monday that a 22-year-old Abingdon man was killed Sunday morning after riding his motorcycle on the wrong side of the road and being hit by a Cadillac Escalade in Joppa. Richard Vito Genna Jr. was traveling at high speed on Singer Road near Atkisson Road about 10 a.m. when he lost control and slid under the front of the Escalade, the sheriff's office said. Genna was transported to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. No one in the Escalade was injured.

A federal judge sentenced twin brothers to more than eight years in federal prison Monday for robbing $90,000 from a Landover Wachovia bank with help from a corrupt employee and others, the Maryland U.S. Attorney's Office announced. Darnell and Ronnell Davis, 26, of Severn and Washington, D.C., respectively, were also ordered to pay $118,000 in restitution and to forfeit a Dodge Challenger and Cadillac Escalade, each model year 2007. According to court records, the brothers and another man drove to the Wachovia on the 7700 block of Landover Road on Jan. 11. Two of the men entered the bank wearing masks and carrying guns and took a bag of cash from a bank employee, who was in on the job and heading to an ATM with the money.

The Maryland Green Party has nominated Kenniss Henry to replace her daughter, Natasha Pettigrew, on the ballot for U.S. Senate , the party announced Wednesday. Pettigrew died this month after a sport utility vehicle struck her while she was cycling in Prince George's County. Henry's name was submitted Monday to the Maryland State Board of Elections for the seat long held by Democratic Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski. The party's coordinating council voted unanimously Sunday night to nominate Henry.

Police are looking for a white Cadillac Escalade sport utility vehicle in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred yesterday afternoon in Northwest Baltimore. An unidentified man was shot several times at the Cross Country Manor Apartments in the 3300 block of Clarks Lane, police said. He was dead upon arrival at Maryland Shock Trauma Center. The shooting occurred about noon. Police are asking anyone with information to call 410-396-2100.

A shootout early yesterday at Washington Wizards guard DeShawn Stevenson's house west of Orlando, Fla., has left one man with gunshot wounds. Stevenson and his guests told Orange County sheriff's deputies that Curtis Ruff, 31, opened fire after following them and some women home from an Orlando nightclub. Ruff, of Orlando, later turned up at a hospital with gunshot wounds, but deputies said neither he, Stevenson, nor the guests would elaborate on what happened during the 4 a.m. incident.
