On Saturday, March 10, 2005, CECILE BUSHEY of Glen Burnie; beloved wife of 52 years to Joseph Bushey; loving mother of Arthur and Alan Bushey; cherished grandmother of three. Also survived by three brothers. The family will receive visitors at the family owned Singleton Funeral Home, 1 Second Avenue, S.W., (at Crain Highway), Glen Burnie from 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. on Sunday. A Funeral Ceremony will be held on Monday at 11 A.M. in the funeral home chapel.

Some Carroll County volunteer fire companies take Santa Claus sitting atop a fire engine for a ride through their response areas. Below are schedules for three fire companies. Schedules may change due to emergencies or weather. Residents can call their local firehouse for information on Santa visits. Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department will start about 6 p.m.: Today: Park Side development, Klees Mill Road (from Liberty Road to Bartholow Road), Old Washington Road (from Bartholow Road to Bushey Road)

HAGERSTOWN -- Walk down North Potomac Street, and it's clear that this town bears the mark of architect George Weller Bushey.His firm designed the North Potomac Parking Garage. Down the street is an addition the company created for the YMCA.Farther along, in a refurbished old house that sits off the street, are the offices of Bushey Associates, the area's largest and most prominent architecture firm.So it's no wonder that Hagerstown is asking how George Bushey -- a leader in his field, a man described by friends as a pillar of the community -- could wind up ensnared in the war on drugs.

Two men were freed on bond yesterday after their arrest Sunday on various drug charges, including possession of marijuana.Their arrests came after police seized 21 pounds of suspected marijuana at a home in the 4900 block of Bushey Road in Sykesville, court records show.James P. Whittington, 34, of the 1700 block of S. Charles St. in Baltimore, was released on $15,000 bail, court records showed. He was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

A Severna Park Christmas tree vendor scared off a knife-wielding robber with a chain saw last week.County police said the man was trimming a tree on his lot at the intersection of Route 2 and McKinsey Road at about 9:15 p.m. Dec. 11.The robber, armed with a large knife, walked up behind him and demanded the man's money.The man turned around revealing his chain saw, and said: "Do you want to go at it? Let's dance."Police described the would-be thief as a black male about 19, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a thin build.

Explosion victim identified from dental recordsDental records researched by the state medical examiner's office have led to the positive identification of the victim of a Mount Airy-area apartment building explosion and fire on Jan. 18.Investigators from the state fire marshal's office and Frederick County Sheriff's Department said that the body, burned beyond recognition, was identified as that of William Lesser Jr., 58, formerly of Arlington, Va.Mr....

Artist Maureen Bannon Bushey of Owen Brown Village has returned from her second trip to Poland, where she was based in Warsaw during the opening of the new American Cultural Center.Ms. Bushey's trips have triple purposes. She is interested in learning more about her Polish heritage, culture, roots and language for her personal satisfaction, as well as using these and other facts as material for a book she is writing.Her sketches and paintings of Poland are in preparation for a future exhibit "Passions of Poland," to be held in cooperation and assistance with the Polish Embassy.
