An Owings Mills man received a one-year sentence yesterday in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court after pleading guilty in May to being one of two men who delivered 5 pounds of marijuana to an undercover detective at a Glen Burnie motel. Fred Schneyer, 44, of the 9000 block of Groffs Mill Drive pleaded guilty May 12 to distribution of marijuana. Anne Arundel County Circuit Judge Joseph P. Manck senteced Schneyer to five years, suspending all but one year. He will serve the first 90 days at the Anne Arundel County Detention Centerand be under house arrest for the remainder . At the sentencing, Assistant State's Attorney Eileen Reilly asked that Schneyer serve the full five years because of the amount of drugs involved.

A 22-year-old Glen Burnie woman was robbed yesterday morning as she prepared to make a transaction at an automated teller machine, police said.Joann Rachel Dandridge told police she was at a First National Bank machine in the 400 block of Old Mill Road around 4 a.m. when a man walked up, pointed a pistol at her and demanded money, police said.Ms. Dandridge gave him her wallet. The bandit took the money, grabbed a cellular phone from Ms. Dandridge's jacket pocket and fled, police said.

Two men armed with semi-automatic handguns robbed a Glen Burnie rental store Saturday evening of an undisclosed amount of cash, county police said.The bandits walked into the Alrenco store in the 7400 block of Ritchie Highway about 6 p.m., guns drawn, and took all the cash from the register. They ran from the store, got into a white Volkswagen parked nearby on Georgia Avenue and fled north on Ritchie Highway, police said.Employees of the store were unable to give police a good description of either the suspects or the getaway car.

Masked men rob two of cash, watchMasked men robbed two Glen Burnie men at gunpoint Friday night, taking an undisclosed amount of cash and a watch from the victims, county police said.Jung Won Park, 60, and Jae Min Park, 31, were in the parking lot of their apartment building when two men approached them about 10 p.m. One man pulled out a small black handgun and demanded money, police said.The robbers took a wallet containing the money and the watch from the men and walked away, heading north on Americana Circle, police said.

The No. 6 Glen Burnie softball team stunned top-ranked Chesapeake, 5-4, in 11 innings for the Anne Arundel County title last night at Randazzo Park in Severn. Stephanie Stoll scored the game-winner on a fielder's choice, capping a stretch run during which the Gophers (15-5) won 10 of 11 and emerged with the title. The Cougars fell to 19-2.

Elliott Royal scored 17 points in the win. 32 Free throws attempted by the Glen Burnie girls basketball team - 19 of which were made - in a 51-35 loss at South River last week. 290 Career wins for St. Mary's girls basketball coach Harry Dobson after his Saints defeated Mount de Sales, 35-27, and Severn, 47-44, last week. Dobson, in his 15th season, is 290-142 (.671).

Boy, 16, reports man beat and robbed himA 16-year-old Glen Burnie youth told county police he was beaten and robbed by a man who knocked on his door Thursday night.Brian Robert Canuel of the 9100 block of Firefly Run told police an unidentified man knocked on his front door at 10:41 p.m. and asked him to call a tow truck.The man suddenly pulled a gun, began beating the youth and took $10 from him, the police report said.

A Glen Burnie man thwarted a robbery attempt Wednesday when he kneed his assailant and sent him running, county police said.Charles E. James, 43, told police that he and another employee were accosted before 10:30 p.m. after they left through the back door of Morrison's cafeteria in the 100 block of Jennifer Road in Annapolis, after closing time. He said a man with a white towel around his hand jumped from behind a trash bin. When the assailant demanded the store's night deposit, Mr. James hit him with his knee.
