Sara M. Lephardt, 79, died Tuesday at St. Agnes Hospital here. She had retired as a case worker for the Department of Social Services. Survivors include a son, John O. Lephardt of Richmond, Va.; daughters Valerie J. Piechocki of Sykesville, Constance L. Osborne of Virginia and Rosemary L. Lawrence of Minneapolis; brother, Willard Foster of Pennsylvania; and nine grandchildren.DATELINE: HampsteadThe Rev. Thomas L. Price Sr., 48, former pastor of Grace United Methodist Church here, died Nov. 24 in a car accident near Easton.

Four sibling children were injured, one seriously, in a three-vehicle accident early yesterday on Route 27 north of Taylorsville, authorities said. John Schaufele, 8, of Taylorsville initially was listed in critical condition after being flown to Johns Hopkins Children's Center, but his condition was upgraded to serious yesterday afternoon, a hospital spokeswoman said. His sister, Jacqueline, 12, was in fair condition at Carroll County General Hospital, and a brother, Ryan, 10, and another sister, Stephanie, 14, were treated at the hospital and released, authorities said.

Campbell, loving mother of Kathy Hayes, Lynn Buffington DeWolfe, Mark Campbell, Craig Campbell, Sherry Myers, Lynn McGraw, Bob Swank, Patti Longo and Jeff Swank and their spouses; also survived by 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc. of Bel Air, 610 W. MacPhail Road (Rt. 24), on Friday from 6 to 9 P.M. A prayer service will be held at 8 P.M. at the funeral home.

An article Sunday incorrectly reported the Republican delegates to the party's 1992 nominating convention from the 7th Congressional District. The delegates, all pledged to President Bush, are Kathline Buffington and Victor Clark of Baltimore and Beverly Goldstein of Baltimore County.After tallying votes from Tuesday's primary election and applying the party's complex formulas for allocating delegates by congressional district and sex, Democratic officials have released the following list of Maryland delegates to the party's presidential nominating convention.

David M. Buffington, 61, died June 1 at his home. A former resident of Union Bridge, he was the husband of Barbara Witzke Buffington. A graduate of Western Maryland College, he also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the law firm of Semmes, Bowen and Semmes here. In addition to his wife, survivors include a son,David M. of Baltimore County; daughter, Carol L. Whitfield of Allegany County; sisters Mrs. Charles P. Sayler of Union Bridge and Mrs. Edmond Venzie of Pennsylvania, and five grandchildren.

Political opponents of Annapolis Mayor Alfred A. Hopkins have attacked a recent advertisement by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maryland, which features the city administrator holding his newborn son, as a conflict of interest.The city's Republican Central Committee issued a statement yesterday chiding Michael Mallinoff, the mayor's right-hand man, for appearing in the ad, which has been printed in The Sun and the Maryland Gazette. Former Mayor Dennis Callahan, an undeclared candidate in next year's mayoral race, also questioned the ad because the city contracts with the lowest bidder to provide employee health benefits.

Plans for the renovation and expansion of Taneytown Elementary School have grown by one room -- for a preschool class.The school design plans, approved by the Carroll County Board of Education yesterday, include an additional 1,000 square feet for a preschool classroom.School officials added the room to the plan after a suggestion by the governor's task force for school construction recommended that counties plan for prekindergartens.Carroll County has added preschool space to new and renovated schools before, but this marks the first time the state has paid a share of the cost, said Lester Surber, supervisor of school facilities.
