Also survived by five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and cousins. Relatives and friends may call at the family owned, AMBROSE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1328 Sulphur Spring Road, Arbutus, on Wednesday, from 7 to 9 P.M. and Thursday, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M., where a service will be held on Friday, at the funeral hour of 10 A.M. Interment to follow at Loudon Park Cemetery.

Baltimore County police have identified the Carroll County man who was found in a burning car in Upperco last week. John David Metcalf, 48, of the 4600 block of Buffington Lane in Taneytown was found March 12 after county police and fire responded to reports of a vehicle fire in the 4600 block of Black Road. He was dead at the scene. After an investigation, police determined that the engine in Metcalf's vehicle caught fire when he stopped in the parking lot of Grace United Methodist Church in the 4600 block of Black Rock Road.

POLICE* Taneytown: A resident of the 4600 block Buffington Road told state police someone entered his house and stole $2,500 Monday. There was no forced entry, according to police.FIRE* New Windsor: Firefighters from the New Windsor station responded to a fire in a pile of trash at Routes 31 and 75 at 3:56 p.m. yesterday. They were out for 13 minutes.New Windsor, Winfield and Westminster were dispatched to a shed fire in the 1800 block of Bowersox Road at 9:44 a.m. yesterday. Units were out for 57 minutes.

Keyser, Jr. and Frances Andrews; loving brother of Alma Miller, Charles Keyser and Oliver Lowman; caring grandfather of three and great-grandfather of three. He is predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. The family will receive visitors at the family owned Singleton Funeral Home, 1 Second Avenue S.W. (at Crain Highway), Glen Burnie, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. on Monday.

The flu season has not arrived ahead of schedule.What you probably are suffering from is para-influenza or a rhinovirus or an enterovirus, which somewhat mimic symptoms of the real flu, or influenza, but don't pack the same wallop.While the copycat ailments can be uncomfortable and something of a nuisance for a few days , unlike influenza, they simply don't develop into pneumonia, which in many cases leads to death, experts say.Still, North Americans could be in for a repeat of the 1989-90 influenza season when 50,000 people died of flu-related illnesses, warn specialists at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and the federal Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta.

A federal judge has declined for the second time to cite two assistant Baltimore County attorneys for criminal contempt for hiding evidence from plaintiffs in a 1987 civil case against county police.In an order dated last Friday, Judge Joseph C. Howard held the two attorneys, John A. Austin and James G. Beach 3rd, in civil contempt of court and fined them $7,500 each for violating a court order.But the judge, without comment, rejected criminal contempt citations recommended last month by court-appointed special prosecutor W. Neil Eggleston.
