Kimberly Ann Britcher and Daryl Sean Harris were married Sept. 10 at the Kitty Knight House in Georgetown. The bride was attended by Samantha Britcher as the maid of honor; Leslie Wheeler and Bridgette Britcher were bridesmaids. Chris Lambert served as the best man, while Phil Cheeks and Steve White were groomsmen. The bride is the daughter of Dennis and Jean Britcher, of Belcamp. The groom is the son of Dennis and Doris Harris, of Perryville.

Country music superstar Martina McBride will sing the national anthem before Sunday's Ravens-Jets nationally televised game and she will be joined by breast cancer survivors and those undergoing treatment. It's part of the Ravens' effort to help promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month. McBride's new single, “I'm Gonna Love You Through It,” offers hope and inspiration to those who have been affected by breast cancer, according to the team.  Ravens staff, family members and volunteers from the American Cancer Society will distribute 40,000 pink ribbons to fans as they enter the stadium Sunday.

Elena and Jonathon MacBride Mark and Diane Gaspar, of Ellicott City, announce the marriage of their daughter, Elena Jane Gaspar, to Jonathon Kaine MacBride, son of R.J. and Paulette MacBride, of Chesapeake, Va., on May 28, 2011. The bride is a 2007 graduate of Mt. Hebron High School and a 2011 graduate of Virginia Tech, in Blacksburg, Va., where she earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry. She is currently enrolled in her second year in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, in Blacksburg, Va. The groom is a 2010 graduate of Virginia Tech, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering.

Gail Marie Cinoski and James Andrew Rupert were married June 18, at the Church of St. Mary of the Mills in Laurel. A reception following the ceremony was held at the Historic Savage Mill. Ashley Fox, friend of the bride was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Amy Kosmer, sister of the groom, and Marybeth Rickard and Johanna Strokoff, friends of the bride and Amanda Beich, cousin of the bride. The best man was Brian Rupert, brother of the groom; others in the wedding party were: Adam Kosmer, brother-in-law of the groom, Edward Cinoski, brother of the bride, and Joshua Gorub and Brian Lewis, friends of the groom.

It seems you can buy just about anything at discount retailer Costco. Now, brides visiting the Costco store in Howard County next week will be able to buy a wedding dress designed by Kirstie Kelly. The four-day trunk show will be held from Aug. 18 through the 21 st at the store at 6675 Marie Curie Drive in Elkridge. The retailer says gowns will start at 40 percent off retail price. Not keen on buying a dress next to gallons of mayonnaise or 300 pairs of tube socks for $10?

By the time you read this, millions of Americans will have risen this morning at an hour best suited for dairy farming to watch wall-to-wall coverage of the televised wedding of Britain's Kate Middleton and Prince William. The TV networks are certainly milking the royal nuptials for all they are worth, having dispatched hundreds of reporters and producers to the scene to capture every pomp and circumstance. It's hard to see the harm in this shared moment of Anglophilia, aside from what envy it may generate from those impressionable youngsters watching it all on the family big screen TV with visions of wedding ceremonies half as lavish.

Perched in the front row, Emily Ehehalt watched as flashes of ivory ruffles, creamy taffeta and eggshell lace swept by on a runway. The recently engaged Ehehalt was attending a local bridal fashion show looking for ideas for her January 2012 wedding. But many of the trends being shown now, prime wedding-planning season, might be out of date come April 29, when Catherine Elizabeth "Kate" Middleton and Prince William of Wales are scheduled to tie the knot. "I love her style," Ehehalt said.
