Howard H. Bosley, a retired Goodyear Tire manager who had been active in the Army Reserve, died of respiratory failure Wednesday at York Hospital in York, Pa. The former Owings Mills resident was 78. Born in Upperco, Mr. Bosley was a 1946 Towson High School graduate and earned a degree in agriculture and economics from the University of Maryland, College Park. He joined the Army in 1952 and served as an instructor at the U.S. Army Engineer School. He remained active in the reserves for many years.

A 50-year-old Westminster man remains in custody on charges that he robbed a High's dairy store at gunpoint of an undisclosed sum of money Friday night, state police said. About 7 p.m., a 48-year-old clerk at the store in the 400 block of E. Main St. reported that a man wearing an orange bandana over his face and armed with a handgun forced her to give him money from the cash register, said Tfc. Rebecca Bosley, the prime investigator. Bosley said police responding to the robbery stopped a man fitting the robber's description less than a mile away and recovered from his back pocket a sum consistent with the amount taken.

An Ellicott City man died and another person was hospitalized after a four-vehicle collision late yesterday afternoon on the Baltimore Beltway near Liberty Road that caused miles-long delays for motorists, a state police spokesman said. The accident occurred on the outer loop about 5:30 p.m. when a 1999 Toyota driven by Michele Lynn Bosley, 26, of the 5500 block of Thomas Ave. in Halethorpe drove from the median shoulder into the fast lane and collided with a 2006 Land Rover driven by an Owings Mills man, said the spokesman, Trooper Darryl Clark.

Arthur K. Bosley Sr., a custom home builder, died Tuesday of aortic stenosis and chronic pulmonary obstructive disease at his longtime Ruxton home. He was 88. Over three decades he built houses in Baltimore County, including the Ruxton, Towson and Green Spring Valley areas. After he stopped building houses for others, he constructed several homes on property he owned in Ruxton and remodeled homes and buildings. Among his projects was turning the former Lutherville School, which he bought in 1963, into apartments, which he managed.
