An unidentified body was found in the Middle River area Tuesday evening, Baltimore County police responded about 7:30 p.m. to a reported sighting of a body in a wooded area near the 1200 block of Bengies Road west of Eastern Boulevard. Police have yet to reveal the age or gender of the person and will likely wait for a cause of death determination from the Medical Examiner before proceeding with the case, police said. The body of a man found in Patapsco State Park in April was identified Monday through his knee replacements, according to Maryland State Police. State medical examiner ruled John H. Hagegeorge, died of natural causes and exposure but they could not identify the 55 year old through conventional means. Officials used the serial numbers to track down the hospital that had used them. Hagegeorge, whose last known address was on Redcliffe Road in Catonsville, appeared to be living at a makeshift campsite where his body was found.

Baltimore police are investigating the death of an adult male whose body was discovered Monday afternoon in his room at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel at the Inner Harbor. A preliminary investigation shows that no foul play is suspected, said Det. Jeremy Silbert, a city police spokesman. A cause of death will determined by the state Medical Examiner's Office after an autopsy is completed, most likely on Tuesday. Few details were immediately available. Silbert said a member of the hotel staff found the body about 1:30 p.m. but the spokesman did know why the staffer checked on the room or whether the staffer was a member of the cleaning staff.

Baltimore County firefighters recovered a body out of Hopkins Creek in Essex on Wednesday, near the River Watch Restaurant & Marina. A spokeswoman for the fire department could not say whether the victim was a man or a woman, but said that the cause of death was drowning. She said a call came in shortly before 1:30 p.m. about a body in the water off the 200 block of Nanticoke Road, and help was dispatched from Engine 231, a volunteer fire unit in Middleborough, and two vessels from the department's marine division.

Baltimore County firefighters recovered a man's body from inside a North Point home during a small house fire Friday afternoon, according to fire officials. A department spokeswoman said firefighters were called to the 7600 block of Old Battle Grove Road at about 2:35 p.m. and found a dead man in the living room of the home. The fire was confined to the living room area and generated significant heat, fire officials said. The cause of death is not clear. The fire was extinguished a short time after, according to fire officials.

City police have identified the woman found dead in East Baltimore this week, not far from where police have been searching for suspects in a string of rapes. The body of Lykeisha Freeman, 35, was found Tuesday in the rear of the 900 block of E. Eager St., in a grassy area behind a convenience store. The cause of death was listed as blunt-force trauma. Freeman had a history of prostitution charges, and her death came amid a string of attacks that took place at bus stops and inside homes in East Baltimore, police said.

The body of a swimmer who disappeared Sunday near Howell Point on the Eastern Shore, was recovered by the Maryland Natural Resources Police Monday. Brandon M. Greene, 21, of Edgewood, was reported missing shortly before 2 p.m. on Sunday, authorities said. The boaters with whom he was traveling had stopped off Howell Point in Kent County to go swimming when they noticed he was missing. Boat crews from Coast Guard Station Still Pond in Kent County, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland Natural Resources Police and Kent County Fire Rescue and helicopters from the Maryland State Police and Coast Guard Station Atlantic City, N.J., joined in the search of 80 square miles over nine hours.
