Baltimore police were investigating the discovery of a body pulled Monday morning from the Inner Harbor near Fells Point. The body of an unidentified man was pulled from the water off Fells Point Saturday, Baltimore police said. A police spokesman said that officers were called to the 800 block of South Broadway about 9:30 a.m. for a report of a body floating in the water. Officers recovered the body of an adult male who was pronounced dead on the scene. The state medical examiner's office will perform an autopsy. michael.dresser@baltsun.com

A male body was found Wednesday afternoon in the Inner Harbor, near the Spirit of Baltimore cruise ship, officials said. Someone called 911 after the body was observed floating near the Light Street pavilion at about 5 p.m., fire department spokesman Kevin Cartwright said. It was unclear how long the body had been in the water, but Cartwrihgt said it appeared to be in a state of decomposition. The race and age were unclear. He said the body was in possession of the Police Department and will be sent to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy to determine an identity.

Baltimore County police found the body of a man inside a vehicle Thursday morning at Woodholme Country Club in Pikesville. Police believe the body could be that of Norman Hurwitz, 78, who was reported missing Sunday from his home in Pikesville. Detectives had not confirmed the identity, but there are similarities, Cpl. Mike Hill said. He said there was no evidence of foul play. The car was found off a cart path on the golf course, police said. - Brent Jones

Maryland Natural Resources Police were working Saturday to establish the identity of a person whose body washed ashore from the Chesapeake Bay and was found about 4:45 p.m. Friday. Natural Resources Police Sgt. Art Windemuth said it might take days to learn the person's identity using fingerprints and other methods. A resident called Anne Arundel County 911 on Friday after finding the body in the Beverly-Triton Beach Park in Mayo. - Larry Carson

Baltimore police said Sunday they were awaiting the results of an autopsy in the death of a man whose body was found near a pay phone at a gas station at West Mulberry and North Greene streets. "There's no gunshot wound, no stabbing wound, and no sign of foul play," said Anthony Guglielmi, the department's chief spokesman, who identified the dead man only as John Doe until more is known about his death. His body was discovered shortly after 6 a.m. on Saturday.

Baltimore County police are investigating the death of a man found in woods near a Dundalk gas station Saturday. The body was behind the Exxon gas station in the 1300 block of Merritt Boulevard, near German Hill Road. It appeared to have been there for some time, police said. The victim's body was sent to the state medical examiner's office for investigation. The identity of the man is not known, police said.

A body was located in the Baltimore Harbor near Canton on Wednesday evening, according to city police. About 6:43 p.m., a police marine unit was dispatched to the water near the intersection of Boston and Leakin streets for reports of a body. Police are investigating the discovery as a suspicious death, said Detective Nicole Monroe, a police spokeswoman. A cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner, and the person has not been identified. No further information was immediately available.

Police are investigating the discovery of a body found in the woods in Middle Branch Park in South Baltimore. A man's body was found in a wooded area off a trail at about 11:30 a.m., police said. The man appeared to have suffered trauma, and the body will be transported to the medical examiner for further investigation. At the scene, overlooking the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River, officers could be seen talking with a group of young people, with an officer walking one person out of the woods.

The Baltimore Sun Police are investigating the death of an unidentified woman whose body was discovered Sunday evening on the Gwynns Falls Trail in northwest Baltimore. A female jogger on the trail in the vicinity of 3900 block Windsor Mill Road spotted the body and called police about 6:19 p.m., according to Det. Jeremy Silbert, city police spokesman. The body appears to be that of an adult woman and appears to have been the victim of some sort of trauma, Silbert said. It has been transported to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
