A body believed to be the brother of Ravens safety Ed Reed was retrieved from the Mississippi River on Tuesday, 18 days after Brian Reed went into the water trying to escape from police in Kenner, La. Identification of the body is pending an autopsy to be performed by the Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office on Wednesday. According to Kenner police spokesman Lt. Wayne McInnis, the body was found less than a quarter mile — and some 30 feet off shore — from the place Brian Reed went into the river around 10 a.m. on Jan. 7. Texas Equusearch, a volunteer organization that helps families find missing relatives, confirmed the recovery of a submerged body in the area of 153 r d Street in Kenner to New Orleans TV station WDSU.

An unidentified body was pulled from the bay in Ocean City at about 7 p.m. Tuesday, according to local police and the Coast Guard. Police did not provide the age, sex or identity of the body late Tuesday, pending the notification of relatives. Ocean City police responded to the area of 32nd Street on Isle of Wight Bay at about 6:20 p.m. for a report of a possible dead body, police said. They then requested assistance from the Ocean City Coast Guard, according to Petty Officer Alonzo Curry, a Coast Guard spokesman.

Baltimore County police are investigating the death of a man found in woods near a Dundalk gas station Saturday. The body was behind the Exxon gas station in the 1300 block of Merritt Boulevard, near German Hill Road. It appeared to have been there for some time, police said. The victim's body was sent to the state medical examiner's office for investigation. The identity of the man is not known, police said.

Baltimore police were investigating the discovery of a body pulled Monday morning from the Inner Harbor near Fells Point. Baltimore County police found the body of a man inside a vehicle Thursday morning at Woodholme Country Club in Pikesville. Police believe the body could be that of Norman Hurwitz, 78, who was reported missing Sunday from his home in Pikesville. Detectives had not confirmed the identity, but there are similarities, Cpl. Mike Hill said. He said there was no evidence of foul play. The car was found off a cart path on the golf course, police said. - Brent Jones

Baltimore police said Sunday they were awaiting the results of an autopsy in the death of a man whose body was found near a pay phone at a gas station at West Mulberry and North Greene streets. "There's no gunshot wound, no stabbing wound, and no sign of foul play," said Anthony Guglielmi, the department's chief spokesman, who identified the dead man only as John Doe until more is known about his death. His body was discovered shortly after 6 a.m. on Saturday.

Maryland Natural Resources Police were working Saturday to establish the identity of a person whose body washed ashore from the Chesapeake Bay and was found about 4:45 p.m. Friday. Natural Resources Police Sgt. Art Windemuth said it might take days to learn the person's identity using fingerprints and other methods. A resident called Anne Arundel County 911 on Friday after finding the body in the Beverly-Triton Beach Park in Mayo. - Larry Carson

A body was located in the Baltimore Harbor near Canton on Wednesday evening, according to city police. About 6:43 p.m., a police marine unit was dispatched to the water near the intersection of Boston and Leakin streets for reports of a body. Police are investigating the discovery as a suspicious death, said Detective Nicole Monroe, a police spokeswoman. A cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner, and the person has not been identified. No further information was immediately available.

The neighbors said they'd heard the screams for years. Shouting in the middle of their quiet Bel Air neighborhood. Cursing and threats so loud they could be heard a block away at night. Late Monday, the conflict between father and son ended violently — with 16-year-old Robert C. Richardson III accused of murdering his father, Robert C. Richardson Jr., 58, and then dumping his body in a pond behind a relative's house. Police say the son confessed to the crime and told them where to find the body.
