It's a mix of familiar and different when I greet Bobby Roode for the first time in three years. Different hairstyle, darker tan, sharper clothes. I guess that's part of the job when you are the longest-reigning TNA world heavyweight champion in the company's 10-year history. Through all of his success, I still have fond memories of him as Bob (how he introduced himself to me, anyway), the man who appeared extensively for my independent promotion in the greater Toronto area for several years (he lives in nearby Peterborough)

The past 27 hours have truly represented just how much of a "tale of two wrestling companies" fans are living in the United States right now. On Sunday night, TNA Wrestling presented its Destination X pay-per-view, a wrestling-centric outing with a clear focus on the in-ring product and an emotional conclusion to a world title match. Tonight on Raw, WWE continued the build to this Sunday's Money in the Bank pay-per-view with a large emphasis on the very soap opera-inspired issues between WWE Champion CM Punk, his challenger Daniel Bryan and the woman stuck in the middle of them both, AJ. The two shows could not have had a more different build, at least as it pertains to the main event contests.

TNA had the right idea on Thursday night's episode of Impact Wrestling as far as hyping Sunday's Sting-Kurt Angle match at the Hardcore Justice pay-per-view. In addition to a nicely done video package, the empty arena match between the two from a couple years ago was shown - with Angle providing commentary - and the final segment of the show featured the official contract signing for Sunday's match for Sting's TNA world title. After signing the contract, Sting and Angle both cut good promos that were designed to make their showdown at Hardcore Justice seem special.

Jeff Hardy knows what it's like to hit rock bottom. The Charismatic Enigma's 17-year professional wrestling career had seen its share of ups and downs. At his peak, Hardy earned a reputation as one of the most awe-inspiring and beloved fan favorites of the industry's modern era. At his low, Hardy found himself engaged in a battle with personal demons - as well as the legal system - playing out in front of a national audience. He would eventually be sent home from work, deemed to be in no physical condition to continue performing.

TNA Wrestling celebrates its 10th anniversary this weekend with the Slammiversary pay-per-view. Through the years, many stars have come and gone through the TNA system, but there have been a core group of TNA "originals" who have remained loyal to the product through the good times and the bad. One of them, a "founding father" of the company, was "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels. Today, Daniels is one-half of the TNA World Tag Team Champions with Frankie Kazarian and the self-proclaimed "new face of Impact Wrestling.
