Former Ravens coach Brian Billick is expected to interview for the Buffalo Bills' head coaching job, Yahoo Sports reported Saturday. The report attributes the information to three unnamed sources and quotes Billick as saying he had not had any contact "so far" with the Bills. Billick, who led the Ravens to a Super Bowl victory in 2001, is currently a Fox Sports football analyst. The interview would be Billick's first for a head coaching job since the Ravens fired him after the 2007 season.

As even a casual follower of the Ravens from the Brian Billick era knows, the coach never made a mistake. All you had to do was ask him, even when he built an offense one year around Elvis Grbac. Well, let me point out a few of the mistakes made in the Fox broadcasting booth Sunday by Coach Billick, as his partner Thom Brennaman kept deferentially addressing him throughout the game. In one of Billick's first bits of analysis, he referred to Ravens defensive back Domonique Foxworth as Domonique Foxworthy.

Ever since the news broke last week that Brian Billick would be a commentator for the Ravens game Sunday against the Chicago Bears, there were many trips to my mailbox. I knew he would send me a Christmas card. Or call, or send a telegram or a text message. At least, give me a little something. But nothing. Go figure. For nine years, Billick and I had one of the best running shows in Baltimore sports history, and now after a near two-year separation, he's treating me like last year's Christmas tree.

T he Ravens wrapped up one of their most disappointing seasons with a 27-21 victory over the rival Pittsburgh Steelers on Dec. 30, 2007. Pittsburgh had already made the playoffs and was the No. 4 seed. It was the Ravens' first win in 76 days, ending their franchise-record losing streak at nine games. A day after the game, Ravens coach Brian Billick, who led the team to its only Super Bowl title, was fired. WHAT HAPPENED: Reserve running backs Musa Smith and Cory Ross helped the Ravens control the clock, quarterback Troy Smith played like a Heisman Trophy winner and David Pittman came up with two interceptions.

When I heard that Brian Billick had written a book, I was pretty stoked. Finally, I thought, we'll get the inside story on his surprising dismissal by the Ravens, his up-and-down relationship with team owner Steve Bisciotti, that strange Super Bowl news conference during which he chastised the media for its treatment of Ray Lewis ... and a lot of the other behind-the-purple-curtain stuff that we've all been wondering about since he was fired after the...

The sensational murder of Steve McNair will tarnish the veteran quarterback's legacy in the eyes of fans, former Ravens coach Brian Billick said Monday. McNair, who played under Billick in 2006 and 2007, was shot and killed Saturday in Nashville, Tenn. Married for 12 years, he was found dead near a 20-year-old woman whom police say he had been dating. While McNair's death has been ruled a homicide, police have not classified her death. "That is unfortunate because Steve was a man who did so many good things in both this community and in Nashville that deserves to be thought of in better terms," Billick told WNST, a radio station that he partly owns.

Former Ravens coach Brian Billick is being considered for head coaching vacancies for the New York Jets and Detroit Lions, according to NFL.com. A league source told the Web site that New York is planning to interview Billick this week and that he is "a viable candidate for the Jets' job." Billick, who led the Ravens to the Super Bowl title in 2001, was fired after 2007 season after going 5-11, his worst year with the team. He is working as an analyst for Fox. He recently told the New York Post that he would be receptive about possibly returning to coaching, but he declined to comment on talks with specific teams.

It was about three weeks ago when Terrell Suggs said NFL officials look at the Ravens more closely than other teams. Well, if the officials didn't do this before, Suggs has certainly given them reason to do so. The NFL is "aggressively" investigating Suggs' recent comments on an Atlanta sports talk show that the Ravens had a "bounty" on Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward and running back Rashard Mendenhall (who suffered a season-ending shoulder...
