Cub Scout Pack 662, sponsored by BBM Delivery & Services Inc. of Severn presented more than 30 awards at its last pack meeting.Advancing to the rank of Bobcat were David N. Brice, Adam M. Donnelly, RyanLester, Jacob Mahoney, Joshua McDowell, Nathan D. Nevius, Kirk D. Prevost, Roger Ruark, Matthew Ruoff, and Curtis Yowell.The rank of Wolf was attained by Brian McNeely and Jason Scutt, who earned one Gold and one Silver Arrow Point. Between tongue studs and toe rings, there's very little untapped real estate left to bejewel -- except, perhaps, the hips of the low-riding jeans that are a uniform for so many women. So Wendy Thorlakson, producer with a bevy of Hollywood pals, created Jean Jewels -- hanging pendants that can be fastened to a belt loop. Dangling from silver chains emblazoned with double Js (for Jean Jewels), the pendants look a little like hanging key chains. They are shaped like flowers, crosses, peace signs, hearts and cameos.

The Odenton Family Development Community and the YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County will present a Parent Effectiveness Training (PET) course from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., beginning Thursday at Odenton Elementary School. Classes will be on Thursdays through March 3.The course will help parents improve their relationships with their children. Parents will learn how to listen, confront and resolve conflicts without hurting personal relationships.Topics will include "What is Anger and How to Deal with It" and "What is Parental Power?"

Cub Scout Pack 269 sponsored by the Four Seasons Women's Club recently held a meeting at Four Seasons Elementary School.Cub master Mark Hagensick awarded the Bobcat badge to Justin Mastrangelo and Chase Waddell. The Webelos badge was earned by Sean Brynes, Brett Bosher, Matt Coulter, Kevin Farber, Brad Hurst, Michael Innes, Bart Maxwell, Matt Seaton, Marty Shatzer and Sean Linton. Weblos activity badges were presented to Joseph Danahy, John Hamrick Jr., Joseph Napier-Carr and Mark Tyler, scientist; Seaton, fitness; Hurst, traveler; Innes, outdoorsman; Brian Bartimo, artist, citizen and communicator; and Linton, outdoorsman, artist, citizen and communicator.

More than three dozen Odenton Elementary School pupils lifted their voices in song Thursday to help celebrate Music in Our Schools Month.The kick-off was the PBS broadcast of the 10th annual World's Largest Concert, a 30-minute sing-along.These fifth-graders participated in the concert: Jessica Agorsor, Timmy Ale, Jeffrey Bell, Ryan Bosley, James Brannon, Bianc Burgess, Kevin Campbell, Mark Critchlow, Samantha Cummings, Erin Douglas, Chris Foor, Melissa George, Mary Gill, Katrina Hagan, James Haupt, John Hoose, Carol Jackson, Neelum Khattak, Sara Kriger and Krystal Lemon.

A community column in Monday's Anne Arundel edition of The Sun incorrectly reported the location of an ice cream social in West County on Friday. The event will be held at Waugh Chapel Elementary School in Odenton from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.The Sun regrets the errors.Four Seasons Elementary School is having an ice cream social and book fair from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday in the school cafeteria. Last year's event was a huge success.For information, call 672-3191.*The Gambrills Odenton Recreation Council will be holding registration for fall sports programs from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday at Francis Station Park in Odenton.
