Belinda G. Galbreath, a retired Baltimore County librarian who was an accomplished storyteller, died Sunday of complications from diabetes at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. The lifelong Street resident was 59. The daughter of dairy farmers, Belinda Grace Galbreath was born in Baltimore and raised on the family farm in Street. After graduating from North Harford High School in 1970, she earned a bachelor's degree in library science in 1975 from the University of Maryland, College Park.

City Councilwoman Belinda Conaway abruptly dropped a $21 million lawsuit against Examiner columnist Adam Meister Monday, conceding that she had, as he'd reported, claimed a Baltimore County house as her primary residence. “I want to thank Belinda for suing me,” Meister told reporters after a brief court hearing,  stripping off a white dress shirt just outside the courtroom to reveal a red-white-and-blue campaign T-shirt for Nick Mosby, who is challenging Conaway in the 7th district.

On September 7, 2007, BELINDA ROBIN KOELLEIN lost her long valiant battle with with brain cancer. She died quietly in her mother's presence at the John & Arloine Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House. Belinda's daughter Nastassja was the love and passion of her entire life. Her birthday wish this year was "Peace and Love" for her daughter Nastassja. With this care and devotion, she put special emphasis on Nastassja's education and always encouraged her to strive for the best. Because of this dedication to her education, Nastassja is now a student at St. Timothy's School.

The only current photo of the boy is not even of him. It's an age-progressed digital image of what Garnell Moore might look like now. Garnell hasn't been seen in at least four years, since he was about 7. In the eyes of the Baltimore police detectives who investigated 298 missing-persons cases last year, he is the one person who has "completely vanished." Even when relatives knew where he was, Garnell was barely under anyone's care. His parents fell out of his life early. The aunt who became his default guardian never enrolled him in school, and he never came to the attention of any child welfare agency.

It all came rushing back to Belinda Byrd one afternoon last summer in her Rosedale apartment. Her 2-year-old daughter, Tiffany, had accidentally fallen down and begun to cry.Suddenly, Belinda was 7 years old again, lying in the bed of her home in Mount Airy. Images stored in her subconscious for more than a decade began playing across her mind:Her foster father, the Rev. Alvin Hall, pastor of the local Assembly of God Church, was on top of her.He was pressing a pillow so hard against her face and neck that he had broken her collarbone.

A 23-year-old doctor's receptionist -- described as "a beautiful young girl with a beautiful personality" -- was stabbed to death yesterday by her distraught former boyfriend, who then drove to a bridge in Northeast Baltimore and hanged himself, police said.Belinda Newkirk of the 3500 block of Elmora Avenue died about 9:30 a.m. in the hallway of the physician's office in the first block of East Read Street, where she had worked as a receptionist for about a year, said Lt. Robert Stanton of the Baltimore police's homicide unit.

Conaway Sr. is a former state delegate who has been Baltimore Circuit Court clerk since 1998 and plans to run as an independent in the November 2004 general election. Mary W.
