FIRE* Winfield: Winfield responded to two automobile fires within 15 minutes Sunday afternoon. The first alarm was at 1:01 p.m. on Liberty Road, and the second call came at 1:16 p.m. for a vehicle on Bartholow Road. Firefighters were out for 10 minutes on Liberty Road and 40 minutes on Bartholow Road.Winfield responded to an illegal open burning in the 1900 block of West Liberty Road at 9:51 p.m. Saturday. Units were out 38 minutes.* Woodbine: Winfield, Sykesville and Lisbon of Howard County were dispatched to an attic fire in a house on Patton Drive at 2:14 p.m. Monday.

On August 14, 2005 RICHARD LEE JOHE, 78 of Sykesville formerly of Catonsville. Beloved husband of Angelina Margaret Johe (nee Maranto); devoted father of Gary L. Johe and Kathleen A. Bartholow; devoted son-in-law and care giver David A. Bartholow; dearest brother of Donald F. Lee; loving grandfather of Jennifer, Shannon, Mylinda, Chris and Tommy.
