It's true. The Chicken 'n' Waffles food truck has pulled into town. The man behind the truck is Sterling Godfrey, who just recently moved his mobile operation from the D.C. suburbs to the streets of Baltimore. The specialty of the truck is the chicken-and-waffle combo ($9.50), and waffles and chicken all by themselves. You can get waffle plain ($6) or topped with strawberry or blueberry ($7.75). Orders of chicken wings begin at $2.60 for two and end at $10.40 for 10. Also on the menu: hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, minced pork barbecue, and half-smokes, as wells as fish sandwiches (tilapia or whiting)

For all you complaining about the less-than-stellar season six premiere, feast your eyes on the scintillating second episode. “The Collaborators” delves into themes of desire, putting on a good face for show and the sin rooted deep in Don's history: prostitution. The death and suicide images are still there, but toned down a bit from last week's one-and-a-half deaths. That's always a plus. Don runs into the good -- but not good enough for his wife -- doctor in the elevator before slipping away to sleep with said wife.

"The only thing worse than not getting what you want is someone else getting it," Roger said in season five. In "To Have And To Hold," Don not only loses what he wants to someone else, but he also watches the defeat unfold right in front of him. This ties in seamlessly with the theme of unattainable desires and gluttony, straight from Dante's “Inferno.” (Last week episode's focused on the lust -- did the heavy-handed theme of prostitution give...

Beehives. Pencil skirts. Tight sweaters. Eyeliner. Skinny pants. Sharkskin suits. Banlon shirts. Florsheims. It was 1960s Baltimore, and these were the looks - expertly captured in the latest film version of Hairspray, which premieres tonight at the Charles Theatre. The fashions of the musical represent the silhouettes and styles of a well-known time period - the calm before the civil rights storm; the iconoclastic Jackie O years. But Hairspray is set squarely in Honville; the movie is as much an ode to ole Bawlmer as it is a colorful commentary on differences and dancing and doing the right thing.

* Item: Smithfield Smoked Ham Sausage* What you get: 8 (2 ounce) servings* Cost: About $2* Preparation time: Just heat and serve* Review: If you like Smithfield's famous cured hams and other smoked meats, you'll love this new blend of chopped fresh ham and country-cured ham in a sausage casing. It's a nice change of pace on the grill or warmed in the microwave. Cut it in chunks and add to scalloped potatoes, macaroni and cheese, or even baked beans. Use it on an updated sausage sandwich. My only quibble is the portion size.
