In the past 30 years we have seen such an incredible change in the WWE. If you were alive to witness it, or if you went through the archives, you'll notice how unique and diverse each era has been, especially those eras of prosperity. With recent claims that WrestleMania 28 will become the most financially successful WrestleMania of all time, it seems that we are firmly entrenched in another upswing in WWE. The two previous eras of major upswing in WWE were the “Rock N' Wrestling” Era (roughly 1984-1991)

WWE '13 has now been made available to the public for a month-and-a-half. Fans and gamers alike have been able to play, digest and dissect the title, compare it to previous releases and make a wish list for future releases. Creative director Cory Ledesma is pleased with the release. “I think the main takeaway is that we're extremely pleased and happy with how the product turned out," Ledesma said. “We really put our blood sweat and tears this year into WWE '13. We really wanted to hit a home run. I think as a team we're all just very happy and relieved that it's seen so much success.” The game is driven by the new Attitude Era campaign, where nostalgic players are able to relive some of WWE's most important moments in arguably its most successful period.

This past Thursday night, Chris Jericho found a Brazilian flag ringside at a live event in Brazil during his match against CM Punk. Jericho picked up the flag, showed it to the audience, threw it down on the ground and kicked it out of the ring . The local police, present at the event, stopped the match and demanded that Jericho give an apology or face incarceration. He did so , and the match resumed. Afterwards, it was announced on WWE.com that WWE suspended Jericho indefinitely for the incident, which later became 30 days.

Dear Dwayne, Two weeks ago I wrote about your return to WWE and quantified your statement: "I am never, ever going away. " I'm not one to repeat subjects too often, but in this case I simply couldn't avoid it. On Tuesday's episode of #AftermathTV on theScore , I ranted about you and your recent speeches in WWE, most notably your "Rock Concert. " Unfortunately we have a hard end on #AftermathTV and aren't able to go over time like RAW typically is able to do on the USA Network, so I had to keep my rant to 45 seconds.

One of the most debated topics throughout the WWE Universe is John Cena's character and the notion that many want him to turn heel. I think the term “heel” -- when talking about change that many want from John Cena -- is misleading. Before we explore the idea, let's first clearly define the term "heel. " At the very core, as many of you surely already know, a “heel” is someone the fans hate, a "bad guy. " JJ Dillon once told me in an interview a definition that I like to use -- someone that is not as good and/or talented as the “babyface” in the ring, so he needs to cheat to get the upper hand in a match.

Every year around this time, WWE slowly releases the list of superstars that will be inducted into its Hall of Fame. As this happens, there are various debates that inevitably ignite. Some of these debates -- often the topics most talked about on Twitter -- make no sense to me. This column won't completely eradicate arguments pertaining to the WWE Hall of Fame, but consider these thoughts before you engage in your next debate: You cannot compare the proper WWE Hall of Fame to the “Celebrity Wing” of the WWE Hall of Fame.

Pro wrestling star John Cena made a grand entrance last Sunday to a sold-out crowd filled with cheering young fans. Packed into Washington's Verizon Center, kids stood on their feet waving foam fingers and wearing T-shirts emblazoned with the defiant yet wholesome slogan "Never Give Up." Over the course of the three-hour World Wrestling Entertainment show, heroes and villains battled it out in the ring, and parents didn't feel compelled to shield their kids' eyes from the action.

Professional wrestling legend Johnnie Mae Young has passed away at age 90. The announcement was made by WWE on Tuesday night (Jan. 14) and echoed on the Twitter account of the company's chief brand officer, Stephanie McMahon . "A true pioneer and legend has passed tonight. Long live the memory of my friend and WWE Hall of Famer," McMahon writes. WWE CEO Vince McMahon also released a statement, reading, "There will never be another Mae Young. Her longevity in sports entertainment may never be matched, and I will forever be grateful for all of her contributions to the industry.

It's the entertainer vs the wrestler. More generally, it's the WWE Universe vs. the hardcore pro wrestling fan. Daniel Bryan has played his role perfectly in the build up of his match against John Cena at SummerSlam. He is the darling of the internet wrestling community, the guy every hardcore fan is cheering for -- very similar to when Rob Van Dam, the ECW star, in the middle of a hostile ECW crowd at an ECW reunion event, defeated John Cena for the WWE title. Even in a segment loosely resembling the time Mr. McMahon tried to make Steve Austin more "corporate" during the Attitude Era, Daniel Bryan hit a home run and kept us interested.
