The Orioles lost after another fielding miscue by Gold Glove shortstop J.J. Hardy, who was a day removed from a career-worst three-error game Thursday night in Texas. “It's hard to look at all that [other]

A recent scam has targeted customers over the telephone, BGE said. Callers say service will be terminated and direct customers to pay by buying a "Green Dot" Visa credit card. Customers are given another phone number where information is obtained from a customer's credit card. But the funds are not used to pay BGE bills, BGE said.

Even under the best of circumstances, archives lack airtight security. It's generally harder to get to the gate at the average airport than it is to gain access to the valuable historic documents stored and maintained by the hundreds, if not thousands, of U.S. universities and colleges, public libraries, nonprofit organizations and state archives. Being able to browse these records, to read and touch history, is a privilege that many of us have long taken for granted. But no longer.

I've been watching the ruckus surrounding Denise Whiting, the owner of the Café Hon, with a certain degree of perplexity. I am new to Baltimore, having moved here with my family this past August, so I feel like a person who has stepped into a movie theater halfway into the movie. I know I've missed important parts of the story and am trying to make sense of it all. What I can't understand is why Ms. Whiting is trying to control the use of the word "hon" through her trademarks and restrictions, including the one prohibiting merchants from selling cat's-eye sunglasses during Honfest 2011.
