The ad that led to the arrest of a Towson massage parlor owner this month was typical for such businesses, boasting as it did of the availability of "new young girls. " "You have to ask: If they constantly have new girls, where are the other girls going?" Melissa Snow asked. It was a rhetorical question, because as someone who works to stop sex trafficking, Snow has a pretty good idea where they go — to yet another massage parlor that similarly is offering more than rub-downs.

An off-duty Baltimore police cadet was arrested in Glen Burnie after police said he hit a woman with a car in a domestic incident Thursday, the day before he was set to graduate from the academy. Baltimore police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the cadet, Zachary Michael Mitchell, 24, has been suspended from Friday's graduation ceremonies and police expect he will be terminated. Anne Arundel County police said they were told by a witness in the 100 block of Plymouth Lane about 4:30 p.m. that a man and woman had been fighting in the parking lot of an apartment building and that the man struck the woman with a car. The couple later went inside an apartment in the complex, where Mitchell lives, according to police.

Police arrested an Annapolis man who they believe was involved in a burglary at a Boys and Girls Club last month. Laptops and other electronics worth $15,000 were stolen from the Boys and Girls Club at Admiral Oaks, located in the 400 block of Captains Circle, sometime between February 18 and 19, police said. Akeem Howard, 18, was arrested Wednesday after admitting to officers he tried to sell the laptops; he denied being involved in the burglary, police said. Police said Howard was charged with fourth degree burglary and related offenses.

An 18-year old Annapolis resident who last week was arrested and charged with marijuana possession on a school bus at Annapolis High School was arrested on Tuesday night at an apartment and charged with marijuana possession, according to Annapolis police. According to a Wednesday morning police report, Luis Ruiz of Annapolis was arrested after officers received a report around 9:05 p.m. on Tuesday that he was selling drugs on the 1100 block on Madison Street. Officers subsequently approached Ruiz when he left the area and ran into an apartment on the 1000 block of President Street, police said.

Deputy state fire marshals have arrested a second person in connection with the intentional burning of a car in Aberdeen in November. Brenden Anthony Johnson, 20, turned himself in March 13 at the Harford County Detention Center, according to a news release from the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office, which said investigators had served Johnson with an arrest warrant for his involvement in the burning of the vehicle. According to Maryland electronic court records, Johnson, whose address is listed in the 4200 block of Cowan Place in Belcamp, is charged with second-degree arson, first-degree malicious burning and malicious destruction of property.

The wife of a man found stabbed in an Odenton home last year has been arrested in his murder, police said. Donna Mills Wood, 38, turned herself in at the Western District police station at approximately 4 p.m. Thursday. She was charged with the fatal stabbing of Jerome Vorden Wood, 45, inside a residence on the 100 block of Pine Cove Avenue Nov. 6, 2012. Police were called to the scene for a reported suicide and found Jerome Wood with injuries to his upper body. He died that day, and investigators later determined that he had been stabbed and ruled his death a homicide.

Laurel Police arrested four people, two from Laurel, after finding146 grams of marijuana in a vehicle during a traffic stop around 1:18 a.m. Monday in the 900 block of Washington Boulevard. Laurel residents Lawratu Bah, 20, and Joyce Williams, 20; and Bria Archie, 20, of Bowie, and Matthew Bizzell, 24, of Louisville, Ky., all occupants of the vehicle, were arrested. Police also found drug paraphernalia on those in the vehicle. Police said the marijuana recovered had a street value of $1,500.

A 22-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday night after leading Laurel Police on a chase as she threw items from her vehicle's window. Officers initially attempted to stop the vehicle, which had a suspended registration, around 8:30 p.m. in the 14100 block of Baltimore Avenue. The driver drove away and fled the police, and was seen throwing items out of the window; police recovered bags of cocaine and marijuana from the roadway. The driver eventually got out of the vehicle and ran, but police apprehended her in the 11600 block of South Laurel Drive.

A man was left shoeless after a gun-toting robber forced him to hand over his Nike Air Max sneakers in the parking lot of an Anne Arundel County mall, police said. Officers headed to Marley Station Mall on Ritchie Highway just before 10 p.m. Friday and found a man who said a teenager brandished a gun and demanded his shoes, police said. He handed them over and the gunman fled, police said. The 16-year-old suspect was tracked down nearby, with the shoes near him, and was identified by the victim, according to police.
