With Old School RAW coming to Baltimore on Monday, I got a chance to talk to a WWE Superstar that is constantly referred to as “old school," Antonio Cesaro. We had a chance to talk about his past year, his affiliation with the Real Americans, his rise through the independent circuit, his time recently at WWE's developmental organization, NXT, as well as his thoughts on Old School RAW. Q: How would you characterize your 2013 in the WWE? A: Well, I started the year as the United States champion, and now I am not the United States champion.

This year I've had the opporrtunity to enjoy all the action from Los Angeles in the days leading up to Summerslam 2012. Here are the tidbits I have collected from several WWE Superstars: Stephanie McMahon gives an interesting answer on whether or not she will return to WWE TV. Wade Barrett  says he is 99 percent healed from injury and details the character changes we can expect when he returns to WWE TV. Antonio Cesaro...

It's that time of the month again -- when we talk about the last WWE Raw before a pay-per-view and gauge whether the show made us want to spend money on the upcoming event at the end of the week. Right now, I'm lukewarm at best on the whole card (and Raw, for that matter). There were some bright spots for me -- seeing Xavier Woods finally make his WWE main show debut as R Truth's tag team partner was a #ThisMakesMeHappy moment for me. The circumstances of the debut were even more interesting because, in 2007, Woods debuted in TNA also as R Truth's partner.

The elements didn't work in WWE's favor Saturday. In a rare weather twist, Phoenix saw rain. Enough rain to need to move the Fan Axxess festivities indoors. This caused come confusion and delay, as was to be expected. After all, you had to not only move the ring inside, but logistically figure out how the entire event would be run with less space. The U.S. Airways Center and WWE did a good job of moving everything along as quickly as they could. Once fans were allowed inside, they were greeted with free bowls of Fruity Pebbles (no kidding)

WWE posted an article last Tuesday night announcing that Alberto Del Rio had won the World Heavyweight Championship from the Big Show at that week's Smackdown tapings. Revealing a title change isn't uncommon as of late. With so many fans reading spoilers anyway, why wouldn't WWE bring that traffic to their own platforms? That's not the most interesting part of the scenario. What's interesting to me is the timing. With Friday being the first Smackdown after the holiday season, and The Rock in the building, this was already projected to be a highly watched episode.

This one wasn't even close. CM Punk delivered another "pipe bomb" in the final segment on Monday Night Raw -- another blend of honesty and little lines that put smiles on hardcore fans' faces. This one had a more heel-ish twist, as expected given CM Punk's character on TV for the past several months. Then, after CM Punk got the crowd in a frenzy for several minutes, out came The Rock ... and again we saw that familiar Rock "Big Mac Formula" -- Catchphrase (bun), plot point (meat)

Here are my predictions for WWE Extreme Rules:  BROCK LESNAR VS. TRIPLE H: CAGE MATCH I think Brock Lesnar needs the win here, because I see him continuing on for another big match, while I see Triple H returning in the future only if absolutely necessary. Perhaps Paul Heyman's "newest" client (or clients) interferes in this match, helping Lesnar get the win. Because it's a cage match, neither superstar has to be pinned or submitted, one can simply exit through the cage, which means that the loser doesn't look as weak in a loss.

It truly is WrestleMania season, isn't it? That's especially apparent when the “part timers” come out to play. Just 24 hours after The Rock won the WWE championship from CM Punk at the Royal Rumble, “here comes the pain” as they used to say. Just as Paul Heyman was going to get “fired” (his theme music conveniently hit just after Vince McMahon got out “YYYOOOUUU'RRREEEE....”). Brock Lesnar returned to WWE and circled the ring, much like his initial return the day after WrestleMania 28. Then he jumped into the squared circle, thought about it, then delivered an F5 to Vince McMahon.

For those who watch WWE on a regular basis, this headline might be confusing. After all, John Cena won the Royal Rumble and earned the right to face the top champion of his choice at WrestleMania. He chose the WWE champion, who is The Rock. At TLC, it was Cena who benefitted from a one-sided stipulation match against Dolph Ziggler, but next week on Raw it will be Cena who will put up a one-sided stake. It will be Cena vs. CM Punk, and the winner goes to WrestleMania to face The Rock.

After the main event at WWE's Live Event on Saturday night in Munich, Germany, John Cena got on the microphone and asked for Antonio Cesaro to return to the ring. There, he asked the German-speaking superstar to translate his words to the audience. At one point Cesaro refused to translate the World Heavyweight Champion's words, because they were complimentary to him. Cena then began to praise Cesaro to the crowd. The full video is here . This is not the first time something like this has happened at a WWE Live Event (or when the cameras have stopped rolling at a televised event)

Don't believe everything you read on the internet. In fact, don't believe much of what you read on the internet, as it pertains to pro wrestling. At least take it with a grain of salt. Before this week's edition of Raw, there were rumors circling the internet and the internet wrestling websites that this week's episode of Raw would be a "throwaway" episode, with not much plot advancement leading to Wrestlemania. Pretty much the opposite happened. This episode of Raw saw The Undertaker return and receive a Wrestlemania opponent -- CM Punk.
