Baltimore police on Monday morning were investigating a pair of shootings from Sunday evening. A 22-year-old man walked into St. Agnes Hospital shortly after 10 p.m. with a gunshot wound in the leg, police spokesman Sgt. Anthony Smith said. He had been shot a short time earlier in the 2800 block of Annapolis Road in the Westport neighborhood of South Baltimore. The wound was considered minor, Smith said. A 54-year-old man walked into Sinai Hospital at about 5:45 p.m. with a gunshot wound in the torso, Smith said.

Mixed martial arts fighter Darren Costa and his longtime friend Matthew Morrow were shot early Saturday at a house party in Pasadena as a wave of violence swept across the region. Morrow, 21, died from the wounds he suffered at the party in the 7000 block of Outing Ave.; Costa, 20, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Anne Arundel County Police did not name Costa as one of the victims, but his trainer Noel Smith, owner of a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym in Glen Burnie, confirmed Costa was injured at the party.

A Baltimore man leaped out of a moving car Saturday night after a man and a woman abducted him and tried to rob him, county police said.Anthony Smith, 27, suffered cuts on both hands but refused medical treatment.Police said Mr. Smith jumped out of the car as it pulled onto the Interstate 695 entrance ramp from Ritchie Highway.Mr. Smith told police he was walking north on Ritchie Highway near Church Street shortly before 11:30 p.m. when a car pulled up next to him. The people in the car asked Mr. Smith whether he needed a ride, police said.

Police are investigating a South Baltimore shooting Friday evening that wounded three men. Two 24-year-old victims were shot in the foot and a 22-year-old man shot in the arm around 6:30 p.m., according to Sgt. Anthony Smith, a city police spokesman. All were hospitalized in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries, he said. Smith said Saturday morning that the shootings occurred in the 1200 block of W. Cross St. Four males in a vehicle, possibly a black Acura, were reportedly involved in the shooting, according to Smith.

A 34-year-old man died Sunday afternoon after he was stabbed in Northwest Baltimore, police said. The victim, whose identity was not released, was stabbed once in the torso at about 12:11 p.m. Sunday in the 2600 block of Park Heights Terrace, Baltimore Police Sgt. Anthony Smith said. The victim was taken to Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said Smith said police were interviewing a possible suspect, who was in custody. No additional information was available, Smith said.

Baltimore police officers found a woman lying in a Baltimore side street shortly after sunset Friday. She had been shot in the head. The woman, whom police have not yet identified, is listed in critical condition and is being treated at a nearby hospital. Officers found the woman lying in the 300 block of E. 26 t h St. about 7:05 p.m., according to Sgt. Anthony Smith, a spokesman for the Baltimore City Police Department. Witnesses reported seeing a black man wearing a red and black jacket with a white hat running south on Guilford Avenue after the shooting.

Anthony Eric Smith, a former U.S. Postal Service employee, died Sunday in his sleep of a heart attack at his Walbrook home. He was 51. In the 1970s, he worked for the Postal Service's parcel post division and was a Baltimore public schools substitute teacher. Born in Baltimore, he was a 1967 graduate of City College. His 1969 marriage to Wanda Mason ended in divorce. He was a member and former acolyte at St. Mary the Virgin Episcopal Church, 3121 Walbrook Ave., where a requiem Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. today.
