Two men were shot in Baltimore Saturday, one in the Northwest police district and the other in the Southern district, police said. The first incident happened in the city's Dolfield neighborhood around 3 a.m. Saturday. Officers went to the 3900 block of Oakford Ave. where they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to police. Officers said the man had been shot in an attempted robbery two blocks away. He was taken to the hospital and police say he was listed in stable but critical condition.

Two employees of the Odenton Dollar Tree were robbed at gunpoint Friday night, police said. Shortly after 11 p.m., the clerks had just left the store in the 1100 block of Annapolis Road and were crossing the parking lot when a maroon minivan pulled up near them, Anne Arundel County Police said in a Saturday statement. A man got out of the van, pointed a handgun at the victims and demanded money, police said. A cell phone was also taken from one of the victims. The robber was last seen driving west on Annapolis Road.

Police logEllicott City: 8400 Old Annapolis Road: During the weekend, someone cut a hole in the fence around a county schools maintenance shop and tried to steal three snowplows from county vehicles, but nothing was taken.Ellicott City: 10600 block of Frederick Road: Tools were taken during the weekend from a construction trailer after someone smashed its rear window.Elkridge: 6800 block of Deerpath Road: Computer equipment was found missing at Parkway Mortgage. A door was left unlocked during the weekend.

Though they aren't trumpeting it, the Baltimore Police Department's homicide unit has made several recent arrests in killings dating back to last year.  Police spokespeople said they did not know the motives behind the crimes. The arrests are a boost to a unit whose work was questioned just last week at a hearing at City Hall. As of today, the homicide unit's clearance rate is 53 percent.  -The oldest case involves the killing of Justin Marasa, a 22-year-old from Kenya found shot in a vehicle April 8, 2012 in the 1400 block of Holbrook St. Police said William Hunt, 29, has been indicted on murder charges in the killing.  -Garrick Powell Jr., 20, of Gwynn Oak, has been charged with the killing of 21-year-old John Planters, who was found in a grassy lot in the 2200 block of Annapolis Road on Oct. 25, 2012.

A 25-year-old man wanted by police for more than a week in the shooting of two other men at a bar near Fort Meade has been arrested, Anne Arundel County Police said Friday. Raynard Leo Boston, of no fixed address, was arrested without incident on Wednesday - after being called potentially armed and dangerous by police - after county investigators located him in the area of Cross and 6th streets in Brooklyn Park, which is on the city line, police said. Police first announced they were searching for Boston on Jan. 22, three days after he allegedly got into an early morning argument with a bouncer at My Place Bar and Lounge in the 1600 block of Annapolis Road in Odenton and opened fire, striking the 45-year-old bouncer in the lower body and a 34-year-old male bar patron in the hand, police said.
