Monday night's Raw began with a well-executed angle and ended with a great match. What was in between was pretty good, too. When Chris Jericho came out to confront Stephanie McMahon at the top of the show, I never imagined it would result in Stephanie's firing Jericho. ( For more, go to baltimoresun.com/ringposts)

Almost every day, Jay Angle walks the three-quarters of a mile from his antique-filled house in Central Baltimore County to the Riderwood Post Office to pick up his mail. The stroll, which takes him down a crumbling asphalt path known as Blackiston Road and across the old North Central railroad tracks that run behind the post office, has been a part of Mr. Angle's life for 26 years. He aims to keep it that way.But the construction of the Maryland Central Light Rail system threatens to obliterate the path Mr. Angle uses to cross the tracks -- a prospect that has pitted the 61-year-old retiree against the Mass Transit Administration, community association leaders, elected officials and some of his neighbors.

I am shocked and saddened that a newspaper would classify the horrific acts that this man has been accused of doing as an example of "medical malpractice, lax government regulation and dearth of decent health care" ("Kermit Gosnell and the 'liberal media,'" April 16). Really, that's all you can say? You think that is what the "heart of the case" is here? Not the lives of the unborn? What is at the heart of the case is murder plain and simple, and none of the other things you listed concern me one whit when talking about the murder of innocent children.

Some thoughts on Thursday night's TNA Impact: The best reason to watch TNA continues to be Christian Cage, but his babyface turn - if indeed that's what this is supposed to be - continues to suffer from bad booking. Doing a slow, gradual turn is fine in some instances, but once Kurt Angle and his henchmen jumped Cage and laid him out - which happened three weeks ago - then Cage should have become a full-fledged babyface. The way the show is being written, it's hard to tell whether Cage is supposed to be a good guy or a bad guy. The only reason that I know that he's still a heel is because it says "heel" next to his name on the TNA script for next week's show that was leaked on the Internet.

Baseball's free agency period is months away. But, sadly, when late August comes here, the hot stove league can't fire up soon enough. Although this year's potential group isn't deep, there is some interesting potential. Some have team options for 2007, such as New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera and Chicago White Sox right fielder Jermaine Dye, and are almost certainly staying with their current clubs. But options on others, such as St. Louis Cardinals center fielder Jim Edmonds and Chicago Cubs injured starter Kerry Wood, could be bought out. Although the list won't be complete for months, here's a quick primer of top pending free agents with an early guess as to whether the Orioles will be involved.

Fox News Channel created a stir yesterday by broadcasting past remarks by a leading critic of the Bush administration that seemed to support the president's anti-terror efforts - although the comments were originally made on condition that their speaker not be identified. In August 2002, the critic - former chief counter-terrorist official Richard A. Clarke - defended the White House's record on fighting terrorism in a "background" telephone conversation with a small group of reporters, including Fox News' Jim Angle, who taped the exchange.

Mary Laurenzano of Towson looked up Saturday evening and spied "a ring of color" around the moon as it glided behind "very thin, high clouds." She asks: "What caused this color to appear?" It was the cirrus clouds - actually, ice crystals about 20,000 feet up. Like tiny, six-sided lenses, the crystals refract, or bend, moonlight and bounce it to you at a specific angle -- usually 22 degrees. Hence the ring. Sometimes the moonlight is also split, acquiring color like a rainbow. Lunar halos often signal approaching rain.

Food *** (3 stars) Service ** (2 stars) Atmosphere **1/2 (2 1/2stars) Now that Al Gore's movie has won a couple of Oscars and investment gi ant Goldman Sachs has be come eco-friendly in a big way - to name just two "green" examples - the paradox that is Fu sion's Grill should come as no sur prise. Fusion's angle is that it serves organic vegetables whenever it can and organic salads always. The beef comes from cows that were fed no antibiotics and no hormones. The poultry is antibio tic- and steroid-free.
