September 19, 2004
On Sunday, September 12, 2004, DOROTHY L., 87, passed away at Brighton Gardens, Towson, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born December 28, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Archie C. and Amelia E. Mc Dermot. Dorothy was a former member of Arlington Methodist Church and a graduate of Western High School. Dorothy retired in 1979 after 39 years of service as an executive secretary for BGE in downtown Baltimore. She enjoyed gardening, walking and being outdoors. She is survived by sisters Lula G. Thomas of Westminster, and Patricia L. King of Parkville.

On January 14, 2004, ARRON L. RIZO "Al" of Preston, MD, formerly of Joppa; beloved husband of Dottie Rizo (nee Jones); devoted father of Bruce "Mark" Rizo, Dawn P. Kline, Brian C. Reckitt and Joe Reckitt; devoted grandfather of Nick, Kyle, Taylor, Marisa and Clay. Also survived by five sisters and one brother and former wife Patricia Rizo. Friends may call at the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newman Funeral Home, P.A., Easton, MD on Monday, January 19, 2004 from 6 to 8 P.M., where a Masonic Service will be held at 7:45 P.M., followed by a Memorial Service at 8:00 P.M. SANDERS (nee Reese) devoted mother of Susan Dey and husband Robert, Gail Jager and her husband Richard, dear grandmother of Laura, Scott and Cindy, great-grandmother of Paige. Service will be held at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home Inc., 1050 York Rd. (Beltway Exit 26 A) on Monday January 31 at 11 A.M. Interment will follow in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. On Monday, June 9, 2003, ELSIE PAULINE DIMITRESCU, age 81, of Stuart, FL, formerly of Cockeysville, MD, beloved wife of 52 years of George Dimitrescu; devoted mother of Carolyn White, and her husband Joseph; and cherished grandmother of Connor and Carly White, all of Jupiter, FL. Memorial services were held in Florida. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the Alzheimer's Association.

Several new studies suggest that diabetes increases the risk of Alzheimer's disease, adding to a store of evidence that links the disorders. The studies involve only Type 2 diabetes, the most common kind, which is usually related to obesity. The connection raises the prospect that increases in diabetes, a major concern in the United States and worldwide, may worsen the rising toll from Alzheimer's. The findings also add dementia to the cloud of threats that hang over people with diabetes.

On March 12, 2009, Louis Eidelberg Funeral Services were held on March 13, 2009 at the Star of David Memorial Park in North Lauderdale, Florida where Mr. Eidelberg was buried with military honors and a flag ceremony. Memorial offerings may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association. Shiva was held at the home of Belle Eidelberg.
