Over the past few weeks, I've talked about how important this summer is to the WWE.  On Monday night, it was shown just how important the company feels the upcoming months are, as we got two big returns in Chris Jericho and AJ Lee. All night, the broadcasters had teased the big return of a former WWE champion. When The Miz came out, the fans, both in the arena and on Twitter, were annoyed, feeling that the WWE had pulled a bait-and-switch. However, midway through his promo, Chris Jericho came out after an absence of nearly a year.

Hardcore wrestling fans, rejoice. With the entire WWE locker room watching, John Cena, given the option to choose his Summerslam opponent by Raw GM Brad Maddox, ultimately decided on Daniel Bryan, who emphatically replied "Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes," and was applauded by a raucous Brooklyn audience who couldn't be happier with this decision. So now we gear up for John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE title at Summerslam, which no doubt will be a classic encounter between the most popular superstar on the roster right now (Bryan)

A.J. Lee scored on an 8-yard run on the second possession of overtime and then ran for the two-point conversion as host Southern of Harwood earned a thrilling 36-34 upset of No. 11 Arundel last night. After Lee scored his eight points, the visiting Wildcats scored on Bobby Schram's 10-yard touchdown pass to Danny Marin. Arundel (4-2), however, failed on the potential tying two-point conversion when Schram's pass fell incomplete. It was the Bulldogs' second overtime victory this season and left them at 6-0 after receiving a forfeit win earlier in the day. Glen Burnie, which defeated Southern, 22-20, two weeks ago, had to forfeit two games for using an ineligible player.

Last week during my WWE Raw recap, I talked about Team Rhodes' tag team championship win and how it created an incredible moment for the WWE universe. I questioned whether the moment was more important than the titles themselves; if they will be fighting champions or if the titles were simply a tool to make the moment seem more important. More generally, it's no secret the secondary titles in WWE are often nothing more than props -- by secondary, I mean the tag team, Intercontinental, United States and Divas championships.

With Sunday night's pay-per-view Hell in a Cell 2013 at American Airlines Arena in Miami inching closer, Ring Posts blogger Arda Ocal offers his predictions. WWE TITLE: RANDY ORTON VS. DANIEL BRYAN Certainly a big focus of this match will be Shawn Michaels as guest referee. Will he align himself with Triple H/Randy Orton, or will he call it down the middle? Unless we foresee The Heartbreak Kid being involved with WWE regularly - in which case, a Triple H reunion makes sense - I see this one being called down the middle and Daniel Bryan finally getting his hands on the title for longer than a day. WWE thrives on moments, and this scenario lends itself to Shawn Michaels celebrating with Daniel Bryan postmatch.

Last year, Andrew Peresta claimed three Class 2A state titles in helping the Southern of Anne Arundel boys track and field team to a runner-up finish in the team standings. This spring, the No. 10 Bulldogs' fortunes could depend on A.J. Lee. Lee, a senior who ran in Peresta's shadow last season, won four events in the Glenelg Invitational yesterday. Lee set a meet record in the long jump with an effort of 21 feet, 11 inches and tied a record in the 100-meter dash by crossing the finish line in 10.6 seconds.

BOYS A.J. Lee Southern-AA, track Lee broke one meet record and tied another Saturday at the Glenelg Relays, where he won four gold medals and was named the meet's outstanding performer. The long jump record he broke belonged to his jump coach Ian Harvey, who set the record of 21 feet, 6 inches in 1998. Lee soared 21-11. His personal best is 22-5. Lee tied the record in the 100 meters at 10.6 seconds, which is his personal best. He also won the 200 meters in 22.1 seconds, and was on the winning 400 relay team.
