On December 26, 2005, SHIRLEY LOUISE WAINWRIGHT, beloved wife of the late Lawrence Leroy Addison, Sr., devoted mother of Lawrence and his wife Susan Addison, Carol Rae Addison, Steven and his wife Julie Addison, Todd and his wife Helene Addison. Also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services at the family owned Evans Chapel of Memories-Parkville on Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment Lorraine Park Cemetery. Visiting Wednesday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial Donations in Shirley's name may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation or the Hospice of Baltimore-Gilchrist Center.

Wedding day: Aug. 25, 2012 The bride: Nikki Addison Hart, 24, grew up in Gaithersburg. She is an Under Armour sports marketing customer sales representative. Her father, Scott Addison, is vice president of finance for Fitzgerald Auto Mall. Her mother, Ann Addison, is vice president of human resources at Lockheed Martin. The groom: Jeff Hart, 25, grew up in Beaverdam, Va. He is regional sales manager for Centric Business Systems. His father, Mac Hart, is a clinical psychologist in Richmond, Va. His mother, Louise Hart, is a retired Beaverdam special-education teacher.

J ohn Esch in Addison, Tex as, is asking about water temperatures in Baltimore: "I'm moving my boat to Baltimore Inner Harbor for a year and am a little concerned about freezing water/ice." The state DNR tracks that. Between 1985 and 2008, the mean low temperature of the harbor's surface water was 37.9 degrees in February, but it dipped as low as 33.4. On October 14, 2004, MARY J. ADDISON, born in Montclair, NJ, February 14, 1925, attended Kimberly Academy in Montclair and graduated from Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, VA. For years she participated in the coaching of tennis and girls hockey at Queen Anne School, Leland. She was an avid tennis player, loved to sail on her boat "Mercy Me" and looked forward each week to bridge game in Upper Malboro. She was Past President of Forest Garden Club, Prince George's County and a member of St. Barnabas Church.

A 17-year-old girl accused of assaulting her grandmother so severely that the 69-year-old woman had a heart attack and died moments later will be tried as an adult on a charge of murder, a Baltimore judge ruled yesterday. Jabreria Handy and her mother burst into tears as Circuit Judge John P. Miller denied the teen's request to send the case to juvenile court because of her history of "behavior problems" at Samuel L. Banks High School. During the hourlong hearing, prosecutor Jennifer Rallo described how Handy had been suspended nine times during the past two school years, including once for throwing a large textbook into a door, causing glass to break and scatter over a teacher's arm. Handy also had refused to attend counseling and had been diagnosed with oppositional defiance disorder, Rallo said.

All season long, the Arundel Wildcats lived by the pass. Last night in the Class 4A state championship game at M&T Bank Stadium, they died by the pass in a 36-30 loss to Quince Orchard of Montgomery County. The Cougars won their second state championship, with the other in 1991. The Wildcats, who won a state title in 1975, were playing in their first final since 1979. Quince Orchard quarterback Jaron Morrison connected with Travis Hawkins on a 78-yard touchdown pass with 1:30 remaining to give the Cougars a 30-23 lead and cap a 16-point comeback in the fourth quarter.

Angry professional women, emotionally messed-up men and a common kitchen area in the workplace where the two can meet, eat and fight - these are the core elements of Private Practice, the Grey's Anatomy spinoff premiering tonight on ABC. And while the series created by Shonda Rhimes brings some outstanding performers like Amy Brenneman and Audra McDonald back to weekly TV, tonight's season opener is not very appealing. Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery (Kate Walsh), the character who is supposed to lead viewers from Seattle Grace Hospital to the new show's setting at the Oceanside Wellness Center in Santa Monica, Calif.

John Addison Singer Tilghman, a retired Baltimore businessman and descendant of the owners of historic Wye House, died of leukemia Sunday at his Ruxton home. He was 56. Mr. Tilghman was born in Baltimore and raised in Ruxton. He was a 1969 graduate of St. Paul?s School and attended Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va. With several college friends, Mr. Tilghman launched the Far East Trading Co. in Hyannis, Mass., in the 1970s, selling Asian handcrafts. He later returned to Baltimore and established a company that imported furniture and clothing made in Latin America.
