His teachers recalled Matthew Sam Young for his wry sense of humor, his ability to master the cello and cross-country running, but most of all for his intelligence and ability to write. Mary Abigail Young was known for making her own way as the youngest of four children, full of confidence and with a knack for making those around her happy. Services for the brother and sister, whose lives were claimed by a fire at their Roland Park home, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Second Presbyterian Church, 4200 St. Paul St. Matthew, who was 16, died Saturday at Sinai Hospital.

On June 6, 2007, ABIGAIL DURRUTHY, passed away on in Columbia, MD; beloved father of Stephanie and Rosanna; devoted grandfather of Kristen and brother Jonas. Numerous nieces and nephews survive him in Cuba and the United States. Before retirement, he was the Medical Director of Hunt Point Multiservice Health Center in Bronx, NY. A viewing will be held at the Ortiz Funeral Home in Bronx, NY, (718)931-1500. On Wednesday, June 13, 2007, a Mass of Chritian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anselm RC Church on Tinton Avenue, Bronx, NY at 9:30 A.M. Interment St. Michael's Cemetery, Astoria Queens, NY. Abigail McNair, South River SPORT FIELD HOCKEY GIRLS STATS -- McNair, a junior attack, led the Seahawks (16-3-1) in scoring with 21 goals and two assists, as they repeated as Class 4A state champions. McNair had a goal and an assist in the 3-0 win over Springbrook in the final. "Abigail is a very quiet leader, is very unselfish and has marvelous dribbling skills," first-year South River coach Katie Corcoran said. "She can definitely play at the next level." SIDELINES -- McNair has a 4.25 grade point average and is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Arts Honor Society and the Edgewater school's Success Team, which promotes diversity and multi-cultural activities.

The sole play in this summer's Contemporary American Theater Festival that doesn't deal with politics, terrorism or militarism is Sheri Wilner's Father Joy. It's also the most imaginative of the four offerings. The musical Chicago includes a song called Mister Cellophane about a man who's such a nonentity, people see right through him. In Father Joy, the father (Jonathan Bustle) of a budding sculptress named Abigail (a pitch-perfect Kaci Gober) is literally disappearing. He's fading more and more each day. Meanwhile, Abigail has begun a relationship with one of her former professors, an artist (Michael Goodwin)
