Millersville woman lost control of her car Wednesday and it crashed through the front windows of a 7-Eleven store in the 400 block of Old Mill Road, county police said.Police said Melissa Lee Roe, 25, of the 8300 block of Norwood Road accidentally stepped on the accelerator of her 1991 red Plymouth instead of the brake as she drove into the parking lot about 6: 30 p.m., police said.The car shot forward through the windows, police said."It was all the way in the store," said Ella Hensley, who ran to the store after the accident.

A man robbed the 7-Eleven store in the 700 block of Old Mill Road in Severn on Sunday, county police said.Police said the man entered the store about 2: 30 a.m. and asked for a pack of cigarettes. As the cashier handed it to him, police said, the man put a note on the counter that read "THIS IS A HOLDUP!" and pulled up his shirt to reveal a black revolver in the waistband of his pants.Police said the cashier gave the man an unknown amount of money from the register and then he fled. A 19-year-old Woodbine man was arrested yesterday in the robbery of a 7-Eleven store in Ellicott City, Howard County police said.Employees at the 7-Eleven in the 9000 block of Frederick Road told police that a man walked into the store at 3 a.m. and demanded cash after implying that he had a gun.Police said the man took more than $100 from the store and fled.Police said Steven Lee Sales of the 3700 block of Daisy Road was arrested in Ellicott City shortly after the robbery was reported and charged with robbery, theft and first- and second-degree assault.

An armed robber forced the clerk of a New Windsor convenience store to lie on the floor in a refrigerated room, then fled the business with an undisclosed amount of money early yesterday.The female employee, who was not identified, told police that a man entered the 7-Eleven store in the 2800 block of New Windsor Road about 12: 50 a.m. The woman, who was not injured, said the man grabbed her from behind, pressed an unknown weapon in her back, and forced her into the walk-in cooler at the rear of the store.

A 7-Eleven store in Cape St. Claire was sprayed with bullets Saturday, county police said yesterday. One of the bullets struck a wall where two men were standing, and another hit a parked car that was occupied, but no one was injured.Police said a small, dark-colored car passed by the store in the 700 block of College Parkway shortly after 12: 30 a.m. and fired several shots.Police recovered seven spent rounds from the road in front of the store.Pub Date: 9/04/96

A Glen Burnie 7-Eleven store was robbed Tuesday of an undisclosed amount of money, county police said.A clerk told police that a man walked up to the counter shortly before 10 p.m. and demanded money.The man kept his left hand in his pocket but did not display a weapon, then handed the clerk a small brown paper bag, police said.The clerk complied, and the man took the bag and ran north toward Crain Highway, police said.The robber was described as white, in his early 30s, with a black, curly wig, a gray mustache and silver-framed glasses.

The numbers speak volumes: One-third of more than 132,000 calls to the Harford County Sheriff's Office for service last year came from Edgewood and Joppa.That's one key reason Harford officials want to establish a new sheriff's office precinct in Edgewood.The new precinct, if approved by the County Council, would afford plenty of space to run a 24-hour operation where prisoners would be processed, suspected drunken drivers tested, and deputies could keep closer tabs on drug trafficking, Sheriff Joseph P. Meadows said.

County police arrested a Baltimore man Wednesday after he allegedly tried to steal three cartons of cigarettes from a 7-Eleven store in Glen Burnie, police said yesterday.The man walked into store in the 1600 block of Furnace Branch Road shortly before 3:30 a.m. and asked for one carton each of Kool, Winston and Newport cigarettes, police said.The man then pulled the cigarettes, valued at $54, from the clerk's hands and ran.As he tried to leave the store, an arriving customer blocked the door, police said.
