Roundup: No. 4 Mount Saint Joseph beats St. Mary's-Ryken, 41-14, in football

No. 4 Mount Saint Joseph had to play the first half of its game against St. Mary's-Ryken on Saturday without the services of running back Nevone McCrimmon because the senior was taking his SAT at Franklin High School. McCrimmon returned to take the field in the second half and the Gaels (6-1) increased their 14-0 halftime to 41-14 in a rout of the Knights (4-2).

McCrimmon had two touchdown runs in the third quarter of 31 and 12 yards. Gaels cornerback Davante Maura led the defense with two interceptions, one in each half.

Boys' Latin 10, Severn 7: Jerel Archer had an 11-yard touchdown run and Dominic Maggio kicked the extra point to lift the Lakers (5-1) over the host Admirals (2-4).

Maggio's 38-yard field goal in the second quarter gave Boys' Latin a 3-0 lead at the half.

Owings Mills 14, Eastern Tech 12: Levy Johnson connected with Juston Christian twice to lead the host Eagles (4-2) past the Mavericks (5-1).

Johnson threw a 30-yard pass to tie the game in the second quarter and an 88-yard pass to take the lead in the third quarter.

The Mavericks' Ian McBorrough rushed 20-yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, but the 2-point conversion failed.
