The Detroit Tigers have announced their rotation for the first four games of the American League Division Series against the Orioles that begins Thursday at Camden Yards.

They’ll use 2013 AL Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer on Thursday, 2011 AL Cy Young Award/Most Valuable Player winner Justin Verlander on Friday, 2012 AL Cy Young Award winner David Price on Sunday in Game 3 at Comerica Park and Rick Porcello for Monday’s Game 4, if necessary, in Detroit.

They have not announced a starter for a possible Game 5 on Oct. 8 at Camden Yards. Neither Sandy Koufax nor Nolan Ryan will be available for the Tigers in Game 5.

Seriously, that’s a pretty formidable quartet the Tigers will be throwing at the Orioles, who have only named their Game 1 starter so far – right-hander Chris Tillman.

Left-hander Wei-Yin Chen and right-handers Miguel Gonzalez and Bud Norris should fill out the Orioles rotation, but the specific order has not been announced.

As good as the Tigers starting rotation is, the Orioles have gotten to each of those pitchers -- at least a little bit -- in the past. Here are the quartet’s career numbers against the Orioles: Scherzer (3-1, 3.92 ERA in six starts), Verlander (9-2, 3.43 in 15 starts), David Price (7-3, 2.82 ERA in 17 starts), Porcello (3-5, 4.28 in nine starts).
