The Howard and River Hill football teams don't meet on the field until Halloween, but their quarterbacks and receivers will face off Sunday in the Ravens' high school Quarterback Challenge at halftime of the game against the Carolina Panthers at M&T Bank Stadium.

In the competition, which rewards the longest completed pass, the quarterbacks will pass twice, once each to two different receivers. Howard quarterback Kevin Sheahin will aim for Keenan Fisher and Christian Dargan. River Hill quarterback Noah Thyberg will pass to John Kanda and Chuck McLaughlin.

The QB Challenge is held each week the Ravens play at home and usually features local rivals such as the Lions and the Hawks, who are both undefeated in Howard County going into Friday night's games.

The winning team receives a $250 college savings plan for each player and a $500 Under Armour gift card for the school's athletic department.

Future QB Challenges will feature Dunbar vs. Northwestern on Oct. 19, Washington vs. Queen Anne's on Nov. 9, Thomas Johnson vs. C. Milton Wright on Nov. 30, North Carroll vs. South Carroll on Dec. 14 and Towson vs. Eastern Tech on Dec. 28.
