T.J. Maxx will open late next year at The Village at Waugh Chapel in Gambrills, and a new Pier 1 Imports opened Monday at Annapolis Towne Center in Parole.

Apparel discounter T.J. Maxx has signed a lease for more than 22,000 square feet at Waugh Chapel, a mixed use development of shops, offices and apartments, developer Greenberg Gibbons said today. The store will join sister companies Marshalls and Homegoods in the west Anne Arundel County center.

Pier 1's newest Annapolis store, the 22nd location in Maryland, features a store design that lets shoppers try out products more easily.

As part of the opening, shoppers will be given a free reusable bag and Rier 1 Imports backscratcher through Wednesday.
