Jessup man dies in motorcycle crash

September 20, 2014|By Scott Dance | The Baltimore Sun

A Jessup man died Saturday afternoon when he lost control of his motorcycle going around a curve just a few miles from his home, Howard County police said.

John Edward Barrass, 67, was traveling eastbound on Mission Road at about 1:30 p.m. when his Harley Davidson struck a guardrail, ejecting him. A preliminary investigation found that speed and driver error contributed to the crash.

Barrass lived in the 7100 block of Montevideo Road in Jessup, about 3 miles east of the crash site.

Mission Road traffic was closed for more than three hours after the crash.
