Open house The Robinson Nature Center celebrates its third anniversary with an open house from noon to 5 p.m. at 6692 Cedar Lane in Columbia. Monday, Sept. 22

Golf tournament Athelas Institute, a nonprofit providing housing, jobs and individual support to adults with intellectual disabilities, will host its 21st annual Athelas Charity Golf Tournament at Willow Springs Executive Golf Course in West Friendship. The event will include prize giveaways and lunch. Individual player cost is $100, $380 a foursome. 'Canticles and Canons' Recital featuring cellist Carolyn Rosinsky and pianist Chris Lennard will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Owen Brown Interfaith Center, 7246 Cradlerock Way in Columbia. "Aldo Leopold: A Standard of Change" The one-man, one-act play by Jim Pfitzer explores the influences and challenges that led Aldo Leopold to write "A Sand County Almanac" will be staged at 2 p.m. at the National Wildlife Visitor Center Auditorium, 10901 Scarlet Tanager Loop in Laurel. Dog walk The Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League will hold a meet-and-greet from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Walk For Paws and Pet Festival at Lake Elkhorn in Columbia. Event will give prospective adopters, fosters, volunteers and dog lovers in general the opportunity to learn about and interact with these dogs. No adoptable dogs will be at this event. Classical music The "Sundays At Three Concert Series" presents the Mendelssohn Piano Trio at 3 p.m. Oct. 5 at Christ Episcopal Church, 6800 Oakland Mills Road in Columbia. They will play Beethoven's Piano Trio Op.121a "Kakadu variations," Philippe Gaubert's "Trois Aquarelles," and Robert Schumann's Piano Trio No.1 in D minor.
